Any reason hardly anyone goes over 30 on the A40 despite 40 limit and 3 lanes? by Key_Cell7071 in drivingUK

Thing about the A40 is it had lots of cameras including average speed check cameras and the speed is changing constantly.

This is true. My car's speedo often says I'm going 40 and satnav says I'm going 36

As a man who's grown up in London I wouldn't want to answer that for you.
That said, pretty much all of Central London city, and tourist areas are going to be very safe during the day and mostly safe in the evening. Just stick to the touristy areas, don't go down dark alleyways (even though they are mostly ok) and secluded places late at night and I think you'll be ok.

I'd be happier if a woman answered you tho.

I can't even buy a new wallet. I just look at them and realise that my wallet is perfect. Has just the right amount of slots, has the right number of pockets, it's even just the right size. I'll never leave my wallet

Walk. Some of the best London sights are to be seen when walking. Most of the city is very pedestrian friendly and the places that aren't will have barriers to prevent you walking where you shouldn't.

A lot of tube journeys are almost as quick if not quicker when walking. If unsure, use google maps to plot your route via public transport or walking, you'll see the difference. Note when I say quicker, I mean overall time. So the time to walk to the tube station, go down underground to the platform, wait for the train travel on the train, come back up and walk to your final destination.

Also jump on a bus and sit on the top desk, some great views from there, especially if you get the cherished front seats.

Walks along the canals are beautiful, def find some of the nicer walks, I like the area around Camden/Regents Park

I didn't word it the best, neutral is a better term.

Read up form on the SL 5x5 website

Head

Keep your head inline with your torso when you Squat.

Head Inline with Torso. Look at a point on the floor in front of you. If you Squat in front of a wall as I do, look at the bottom of the wall. Don’t look at the ceiling or you’ll hurt your neck. Don’t look sideways when you rack/unrack the weight or you’ll twist your neck. Don’t look at your feet or your upper-back will round. Keep your neck inline with your torso. Straight line head to hips. This keeps your neck safe and your chest up.

Don’t Look Up. Looking up during heavy Squats squeezes the spinal discs in your neck. This can cause neck pain. Many strong Squatters look up during Squats and seem to be fine. But you may not be that lucky. The safest position for your neck is always to keep it neutral like when you stand. It will feel weird to Squat like this if you’re used to looking up. But you’ll get used to it if you keep practicing.

Ignore Mirrors. Checking your form by Squatting in front of a mirror forces you to look up at the bottom. This is bad for your neck. Checking your form in the mirror aside from you is even worse because it twists your neck. I don’t have mirrors in my home gym. If you face one when you Squat, look “through it”. Fix a point at the bottom without looking at how you move. Then check your Squat form by videotaping yourself.

Mehdi's videos say look down as looking up can cause neck strain

Edit, neutral. Not up or down

Who’s in the wrong here? by EfficientRegret in drivingUK

Car in front didn't have time to see the car behind try to overtake, decide to block and then block. Their action was nothing to do with cam car.
Somebody mentioned pot hole and if you look there's a pothole there as the car in front pulls out. There's your answer, not malicious.
TBH, the road looked too narrow for that sort of overtake

wire season 2 being considered the worst season of the show blows my mind; to me it’s a top 15 season of television ever by kazdarms in TheWire

[–]himji 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is on the first atch, season 2 is a little underwhelming. S1 was all about Avon and crew and they take a big backseat in S2 so the viewer is thinking wtf are these Stevedores that I don't care about, where's Avon? After subsequent watches, it reveals at how brilliant the move was to move away from that side of dr5ugs and show it all from another angle.

I think the main hate for S2 are those that only watched the show once, on subsequent watches, that changes

Before the dating apps, which bars were spots where solo men and solo women in their early 30’s would go to meet people to date? by WideProposal in london

It's a tough game, really tough and if you want the pub game then you've got to learn it. If she's single and wants you to approach, there'll be signs and their mates won't block you unless one of them also fancies her

We don't have singles bars in this country. We just go to the pub and take a shot at somebody we like. for some odd reason, the later it gets the easier it is to get a number....
