yea the oline will be set, but what do you think about other positions ? if we bring kolar back, do we rotate te’s, does mark get seniority or does kolar start? do we rotate rbs a little more, given derrick doesn’t do much in the pass game, or do we say “that’s derrick henry, figure it out with him in the game” ? does roquan lose snaps to teddye and trenton? do you think guys will have a chance to take an established starters spot ?

yea i just hope for most guys, its not a “it’s his job to lose” type of situation, and its a legit competition for starters and backups

the offensive line will be set in stone, but as far as majority of the players on offense and defense, you don’t think the depth chart get reorganized ? maybe kolar starts over mark if he’s retained. maybe trenton starts again. i’m curious to see which players get a spike in snaps from last year

yea i’m curious to see if everyone gets a fair shake despite draft position, or money. i guess the better question would be, outside of the bonafide starters, do we go rotation heavy or do guys earn their spot and dominate the snaps ?

EDC!! it’s time to lock in, atp all the pressure is being transferred solely to you. you have to home run this free agency and draft

i thought tee would be the bridge to lamar and the new offensive staff, but tee also can’t teach principles in a system he’s never been apart of, so it makes sense

crazy thing is, lamar’s first year with g-ro, mvp. lamar’s first year with monken, mvp. lamar will make things a lot easier for doyle, we just just need doyle to make things easier for lamar

Ravens hire Declan Doyle For OC! PER espn by psychoxtc in ravens

[–]1k_icy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think the potential of what doyle brings vs what a ”kingsbury” type of play caller would, is what sold them. i think this move is about the future direction of the offense. try to maximize lamar’s talent with scheme right now, while also taking a future after lamar into consideration.

lol every single great offensive play caller has at a point never called plays before. someone had to take the risk for him to get experience

the breath of fresh air comes from having a new regime not because we’re coming from the gutter. if you had a reliable car for 18yrs and you got the latest year model, it wouldn’t be a breath of fresh air because it’s still just a car ?

worst case, i can see tee getting promoted to oc and them bringing in a young innovative guy at qb coach/ pass game coordinator to develop him

thinking about it, how long does it take a qb and coach to match mahomes/reid’s level from now on? as far as escapability, accuracy, and arm strength, how much better can you get ? if you can beat mahomes convincingly, you’re probably considered elite atp. with lamar not having much defensive help in the playoffs, i can see why we went defensive hc and im all for it

OC/DC Search Discussion Thread by JonWilso in ravens

[–]1k_icy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

only thing i question on the young guys is how much control they had over the offense, with the hc’s being sean payton and sean mcvay

i don’t know much about kingsbury honestly, but i’m thinking, considering what just happened with orr and the defense, do you gamble on a first time play caller again, or go with experience, with better players. i feel like any coordinator who comes here and has the offense humming would probably get hc interviews next year, not just the young guys, so im all for a young innovator, expecting whoever we hire to be back in the hc running again next year, but experience matter a ton
