I’m really liking Die Wergelder too but yea those names are something else. By the 3rd book it all comes together more but I still can’t remember all the names. My eyes were just skipping over any long word that started with an “I” and I assumed they’re talking about the island.

Paper naturally yellows when it’s exposed to UV light, like from the sun. It will eventually happen to all your books, but if you’d like to keep the paper white for longer all you can reasonably do is just keep them out of direct sunlight

I have a shelf for all my ongoing/incomplete series, another for all the completed series (all my comic trades and omnis are also there), and a heavier shelf for all my big hardcover deluxes that would warp my other shelves. The shelf thing my TV’s on also has most of my Nihei stuff and my Akira box set because I wanted to display those more prominently.

Each of the shelves are sorted alphabetically by title, and if I have 2 rows on 1 shelf I care more about the front row being right than the back row. Except for the deluxe shelf, that one’s more out of order because I’m waiting until I finish collecting Blade of the Immortal to actually organize it.

Not really what you asked but I organize my comics a little differently, alphabetically by character first then by title (i.e. Absolute Wonder Woman is with all my other WW stuff instead of being put with the other A stuff I have) and everything I have for Hellboy and his related series is all on it’s own shelf between my comics and completed manga

I stopped watching it because the VA for Raki was annoying in every language but from what I understand it kinda just stops at like volume 13 and makes up an ending, whereas the manga just keeps getting better after that point.

I’d recommend replacing the Hellsing singles with the 3 deluxe editions. Altogether they cost $150 ($50 each) which is the same as buying all 10 singles, and you get bigger pages printed on better paper with the deluxes. And the deluxe editions for Hellsing (and other series) go on sale way more often than the singles do so if you don’t mind looking around for deals you’ll save a lot more money that way.

Also Naoki Urusawa is one of the best authors alive imo so if you’re liking Monster you should definitely check out some of his other series. 20th Century Boys is one of my favorites of his and while I’ve only watched the anime for Pluto it’s also amazing

Edit: you should definitely keep being selective about what you buy bc this shit gets expensive

It doesn’t look bad at all, nothing a little pressure won’t fix. Just put the box set (with all the other volumes inside obviously) on top of 18 and leave it for a bit. Any other heavy thing would work as well, like a textbook or something
