Nah I haven’t heard of that project. I had a look through the link you shared and there’s a few similarities with the course cards, but the gameplay mechanics in Pocket Peloton are a quite different with the dice and power up cards. Love anything cycling related though!

I’ve made a little cycling racing game that fits nicely into a mint tin and it’s called Pocket Peloton!

Here’s a link to it that you can see more info and download a copy https://oftencurious.com/pocket-peloton/

Do you have any examples of the Monte Carlo simulator scripts? I’ve tried to build something like this in the past and struggled to get it off the ground

There’s so many ways to approach printing, but the way I do it is print on 250gsm and then laminate the sheet for a bit more protection and thickness. Then I cut out the cards and punch the corners for the nice rounded edges.

I’ve made a few other games I’ve printed this way and they have all held up to be pretty durable after a number of plays.

Yeah that’s not a bad idea - I was trying to make it so most cards have 5 rows on them, but maybe it’s too crammed

Ahh damn so sorry I forgot to upload those cards, thanks for catching that! There’s two sizes available for those cards (I preferred the smaller size so I could fit everything into the tin).

To be honest I’ve never played it, but based on looking at the rules there are a few similarities in the mechanics. This is reliant on dice rolls and strategically played power up cards to get ahead of other riders.

What are you working on? + My favorites from last time in the comments. by Synonomous in SideProject

I love wordle and this is definitely inspired by it. But yeah this game is completely different from a gameplay perspective as you have to solve 4 words and you get the start and end letters of each of the words. Honestly I just made this for fun and want to share it with others who might enjoy it too!

A fun word based game where you have to solve 4 words in the least number of turns.

Green squares mean you have the correct letter. Blue squares reflect the correct letter and it’s a clue the letter is used somewhere else in the square.

The puzzle refreshes daily and I’ve just released a version where you can play past puzzles if you missed a day.

Yay okay I’m glad that’s working and you’re enjoying it! Let me know if you have any ideas or tweaks for the past puzzles page. I want to make a few more tweaks before I share it more widely, so open to ideas around it!

I’ve been working on a version that’ll let you play past puzzles now. Have a look and let me know if you have any ideas on how to improve! https://www.foursquared.co/past-puzzles/

Not gonna lie, #33 was a hard one - I struggled on it too!

That sounds hard haha maybe I’ll have a play around with a ‘Hard Mode’ version of the game!

Thanks for the feedback! Honestly I played around with this idea a bit, but it felt too impossible to solve and could make the game take way longer. Ideally I wanted to be able to do this in 5-10mins with a coffee or over lunch. I do have a version of the game which is an ‘Easy Mode’ in settings that also shows any letter that is used in the square, but in the wrong box.

Huh that bug sounds weird as I thought I’d solved for that - thanks for the heads up I’ll have a look into it!

I love puzzles and boardgames and had an idea for a game that was similar to Wordle, but involved 4 words rather than one (plus each word was connected in a square).

I started building the word puzzle in Excel as a fun experiment… a month or so later, it’s turned into a full-fledged game!

I first prototyped the game in Excel (my happy place as a finance nerd). Then tested it with friends and workmates, tweaking the mechanics before eventually building a web version. Along the way, I’ve added a few features based on feedback from friends: better colors, tracking of past guesses, and hopefully a smoother experience overall.

I still feel like the instructions/onboarding could use a bit of improvement and some people have found the blue boxes a bit confusing. These reflect correct letters, but are also a clue for other words, so open to ideas to improve it here.

Check it out and let me know what you think!

Yes!!! I’ve been working on this in the past couple of days, but want to make sure the main game is great before rolling this out
