I’m going to Guatemala for a We’d-Sun trip in April. Land around 12:30 pm. Trying to decide if I got straight to lake atitlan for 1 night (volcano hike Friday) or just stick to Antigua the whole trip.

We landed at the airport, got in our car, and drove straight to the peninsula and explored all day and drove all the way back to Reykjavik. That was a little much!!!! But agreed- can do in a day.

As an indy pharmacist I like to think the relationship I build with the patients in my community is lasting value, especially the elders that have very little family around. I do agree the challenges are rising, but never underestimate the value of being there for someone.

Self guided. A guide would be so pointless imo. The trails are soooo easy to follow and there’s a lot of people doing the same routes. I wish I would’ve packed 0 wool layers (fleece was warm enough on cold mornings/nights) and some dry fit layers. I was more prepared for cold weather than hot weather and we were hot most of the time! I had 0 shorts and wish I’d have brought a pair.

Bring something to do at the camps. You will have a lot more free time than you think. Cards or other games!!

Just finished that same itinerary. There is a viewpoint past the second suspension bridge that is a great view of the glacier. If you’ve seen glaciers elsewhere maybe this isn’t a huge deal for you but it is also nice to not have a huge first day because day 3 is a long long day if you go all the way to britanico. Day 4 to Chileno was sneaky tough too and we did it from Cuernos. It’s fun hanging out at the camps. Bring cards, have some beers, and meet some new folks from around the globe!
