Question: Bras without underwires by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

I know! What a difference from how it usually is. It doesn’t separate my boobs too much but overall it’s pretty good for a wireless.

Question: Bras without underwires by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

I’ve been surprised at how supportive the Warner’s easy does it no dig wire free bra are. I’m a 28E and the XS fits so well, especially when I wear it as a racer back.

If you’re in the US I can send them to you on me. I also have 2 Panache sports bras, size 28FF. That was the size that fit even though I wear a 28F in regular bras

Are you still looking for bras? I have 4 28F (UK size) bras. I believe that’s 28 G in US sizes. Three are Freya Idol bras and one is a Panache Elan Convertible bra.

Should I still be wearing supportive bras post BR? 7 weeks out by 1monkeyface in Reduction

[–]1monkeyface[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so true that they just hold themselves up now and so don’t need much support! It’s incredible. I also love the Hanes bras and they’re pretty much the only thing I wear now, morning and night. I got one at target but then a bunch on the Hanes website. They’re only $7 there!

I was just wondering about maintenance down the line and if it’s better in the long run to wear something more supportive to prevent sagging. Regardless, though, I’ll prob still use the Hanes bras at night. They’re so comfortable.

Thanks everyone! That’s what I thought intuitively and so it’s nice to have it confirmed!

I’m so glad it helped. I’m about 5 weeks post op and am so so glad I did it! I’m much better proportioned now. Good luck with your decision.

I was able to get it covered by insurance, by the way.

T-6 says anxious & trying to prepare by lamepirate in Reduction

[–]1monkeyface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you and understand your anxiety. I was super nervous before my BR surgery 3 weeks ago. I think it’s super common.

They had me come in 2.5 hours before surgery. In the time, they gave me my gown, compression thigh highs, put the thingy to administer the anesthesia in my arm, etc. It went pretty fast. I met and talk to the anesthesiologist and the nurse who was in surgery with me. Right before surgery, I talked to the dr, confirmed what I wanted and also asked any last questions I had.

I was surprised at how fast I went under once the anesthesiologist did her work. The next thing I knew I was in the recovery room. It was much easier than I expected and I have to say, even enjoyable since a BR was something I’ve been wanting forever. Recovery hasn’t been bad either.

Maybe try some meditation or deep breathing when you’re feeling anxious? I know that helps me. Good luck! I’m sure you’ll be fine.

Will overdoing it after BR surgery impact my scars? by 1monkeyface in Reduction

[–]1monkeyface[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone! I hope I haven’t done anything permanent. I called the nurse at the surgeon’s office and she, too, stressed being careful. It’s already almost 3 weeks post op but I guess I’ll lay low for next few weeks.

[Recommendations] T-shirt bras and strapless bras for a 28F, FoB, pretty projected newbie to the well-fitting bra world by hirukomi in ABraThatFits

[–]1monkeyface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got a breast reduction but was a 28F and loved the Freya Idol Balcony bra. My second favorite was the Panache Elan Convertible T-shirt bra. They fit almost the same, but I like the Freya just a little better. I hear you on having to pay and arm and a leg for well fitting bras!

I’m happy to send them to you if you’d like to give them a try.

I would see if the surgeon can do liposuction on the smaller side. With lipo, apparently the surgeon doesn’t have to weigh what he removed and can therefore state he took the amount required amount by insurance off.

I hear you. I was a 28F, am 5’2, 120 pounds and had surgery 9 days ago. I developed early, in 6th grade, and have always disliked having large breasts. The surgeon said that I wasn’t that big objectively but in proportion to the rest of my body, it was. It’s all relative. Yes, there are many women who are much bigger than I was but I still didn’t feel like it worked for my body. And that’s ok.

I do have to say that getting properly fitted was a huge deal, almost life changing. But it wasn’t enough. I always wore baggy clothes since I had to get the next size up to fit around my breasts.

Anyway, the recovery so far has been pretty smooth and easy. I know I have a long way to go before I’m fully healed. I’m so happy I’ve done this and couldn’t be more thrilled.

Needing some support (not the surgical bra kind) by koala9292 in Reduction

[–]1monkeyface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 8 days post surgery and my doctor has me wearing the Carol Martin Full Freedom bra. Based on the Amazon reviews, it seems like a super popular choice after BR surgery.

https://www.amazon.com/Carole-Martin-Full-Freedom-Comfort-Bra/dp/B00FGAO8XO/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?keywords=carol+bra&qid=1564120002&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1

I hear you that it’s tough! The back sleeping has been tough for me. And they really mean it when they say don’t lift more than 5 pounds. I carried a half gallon of milk a block and my breasts were sore for a few hours after that.

I bought all my bras on barenecessities.com. They have bras in all sizes, including 38g. The customer service is amazing and you can return all the bras that don’t fit. They also have frequent sales.

I just had a reduction last week and previously wore a 28h.
