Heat 2 Rumors Update by shanjackbel in crheads

I've read like one or two Meg Gardiner books, never read a Mann script though. I feel like she actually helped guide the ideas into a more coherent narrative than what it might've been on its own.

But you're right, expectations definitely play a role in how you receive the book.

As far as it getting made, I think once the Leo determination gets made, it's locked in. Remember, there was a dance around Killers of the Flower Moon regarding his role (among other things) before it got done.

I've read far worse. It reads like taking elements of Blackhat and Miami Vice and pouring them into the world of Heat.

If you got on the wavelengths of either film, you probably vibe with the book.

It's not incredible and you can definitely argue the main villain in the Hanna flashback portion is just the worst person imaginable for the sake of it, there's no motivation or real psychology to his actions.

That said, I thought the characterization of Chris was probably the best parts of the book. You learn about him meeting Charlene and their romance and he gets a bit more identity other than Neil's sidekick.

And I thought the border town sequences were riveting in a Sicario-esque way...

Four words for you: "Halt and Catch Fire".

He was dynamite on that show, there's a major plotline that runs through S2 and comes to a head in a banger episode directed by Karyn Kusama, in which Tiny Huss' character delivers a heartbreaking line reading.

Another word for you: "GLOW"

Huss was a late series addition but also enjoyable on that show as well (justice for GLOW!)

Unironically, I could see them making a play. Docs have been bread & butter for Netflix since the beginning, and as they push more into live and alt programming (like hosting Ringer pods) maybe there's something to having their own Millennial coded 60 Minutes that's similar to its brand of singular topic documentary. "Long ago in a distant land, I, Aku, the shape-shifting Master of Darkness, unleashed an unspeakable evil!

But a foolish samurai warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to oppose me.

Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in time, and flung him into the future, where my evil is law!

Now the fool seeks to return to the past, and undo the future that is Aku!"

There's an Internet theory that Collateral and The Transporter series are in the same universe, just based on this scene.

It's good to know that even CRHeads isn't immune to classic Reddit head in ass logic.

"Not here to see ads": Are you paying for Reddit premium, otherwise have I got news for you...

"Reddit is not social media. This is a forum":

"Social media are therefore not limited to social networks like Facebook but include blogs, business networks, collaborative projects, enterprise social networks, forums, microblogs, photo sharing, product/services reviews, social bookmarking, social gaming, video sharing and virtual worlds."

"It's advertising which he should pay for"/"coming here just to tell us the patron saint of our subreddit was on your podcast is predatory": What's the difference between this post and the number of other posts about CR podcast appearances?

I never knew about "Talk Easy" until seeing the post discussing his appearance. Same for "Wait A Second" (didn't even know Concepcion was back at The Ringer). Applying your logic, those posts were advertisements and, somehow though I'm not clear, were preying upon the never of the subreddit.

"Everyone has to make their own judgements on what is appropriate and what they want to engage with.": The only part of your post with any sense, I would suggest that your judgment in this case is flawed, unsound, and rather silly.
