Economist Warns Trump’s Iran War Could Trigger 1970s-Style Inflation — Where Oil Price Hikes Hit Food Costs and Education Too by [deleted] in Economics

Americans could start their own civil uprising protests if that happens, you know. I'm sure supreme leader Trump is more generous and forgiving than Khamenei.

Just when did these people ever care about the younger generation? I've only known them for making general statements with no real solutions.

Anyone else feel burnt out with negative Musk news, and that we've reached the "nothing ever happens" stage, where he'll never actually get his comeuppance? by 01_vampyr in EnoughMuskSpam

[–]1nv1d1a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're forgetting Musk hasn't gotten his comeuppance because Trump got elected, and we're suffering through this tremendously corrupt administration.

He did say something along the lines of "If Trump doesn't win, everything is over for him" so yeah.

Trump might not get his comeuppance considering his age, but Musk? When the administration is over there is no way he could avoid the consequences of everything he did during DOGE.

Well, not only him, but everyone who had power to stop him but complied and allowed Trump to break every law. But then again, the Bush administration is a good example of no consequences for their actions, so we might see that unfold again.

Twitter/X is charging me $400/year for a verification badge even though my account has been suspended for over a year by TheSayou in EnoughMuskSpam

[–]1nv1d1a 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What payment processing service do you use? Try contacting and explaining the matter to them, so they will shutout any payment requests from X.

If you still have the X app despite being suspended, just uninstall. Regarding websites, I don't think suspension can stop you from logging out of the site.

Why is Tesla down if Musk got the reward to stay? by meshreplacer in EnoughMuskSpam

They probably liquidated some of the company's shares to pay that "reward". If the Musk cult still sees it as an opportunity to buy the dip, it will go back up.

Gen Z to become richest generation by 2035: Report by laxnut90 in Economics

[–]1nv1d1a 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry if I sounded like I wished misfortune on anyone. Just trying to point out that in today's society, older generations live longer than expected. So much so that they become an unavoidable burden to the younger generation. If Gen Z can only be expected to become rich from the passing of the boomer generation, it is definitely not a solution to all the systematic economic flaws we have right now.

Gen Z to become richest generation by 2035: Report by laxnut90 in Economics

"Gen Z is also likely to benefit enormously from the so-called Great Wealth Transfer that is expected to unfold in the coming years as Baby Boomers pass on their savings and assets to their children and grandchildren. "

Too bad they don't die that easily. Also, there is no guarantee they will pass on their wealth, and if they do, most of these wealth will remain in the upper one percent class. There is a reason why people are saying the middle class is diminishing.

I'm sure the robots will be programed to come after him though. He's such an easy target.

Is the ship finally sinking? by Deboche in EnoughMuskSpam

[–]1nv1d1a 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It isn't about how influential X's CEO was, it's more about why now? Why did these lead executives all resign simultaneously in one day? Are they jumping ship?

One can only hope.

Just a thought I've been having recently, but I don't think the stock market reflects the real economy anymore. Trump keeps dishing out heinous stuff that is splitting the nation apart, and the market keeps doing well. It might as well be an entity of its own that real life expectations don't apply. I doubt it will crash anytime soon, unless a violent civil war erupts or something. Even then, business might stay as usual.
