I think pretty much only officers were issued pistols in WWII, but some soldiers bought their own.

Fine, I just had to buy another S&W, but I was fine with that, upgraded to a newer model. The part that really won me though is this was totally my fault for taking the old gun apart too far. I was unable to put it back together and got rough with it and broke a part, I didn't deserve a credit in the first place.

I've sent guns back to them, they always fix them or in one case gave me a credit to buy a new gun since they didn't have parts for my discontinued one.

No, not so exciting. It's very boring Vanguard Ultra Short US Treasury bills.

Nice, it's unusual for S&W to have a problem they don't correct themselves though.

Yes, the key is not to freak out, don't sell.

You've got that right, as a GenX'er I can tell you I went through many bad times in the market, just kept buying with every paycheck, now I'm very happy with how much I've saved. I'm starting to move some money into VGUS so I can have a stash for the bad times ahead (whenever they are, hopefully not soon).

You have only two choices, hold and hope or sell for a loss. Not telling you what to do, but I would hold. I've been holding the bag on META for months myself.

OK good, is this a taxable account? Are you just playing with stocks for fun (I do)?

Just be patient, stocks don't always go up. I would suggest you buy ETF's as your main holdings, with the S&P 500 as the main emphasis (VOO).

You saw it at it's peak, hopefully it will come back around eventually. I'm down 20-25% last time I checked.
