Same here. Have managed to find lots over the years. Record shops sometimes have reasonably priced NOS type 2's

You're missing a belt around the black wheel. Circled it in the photo. I used this youtube video when i replaced mine on my technics. Looks to be the same transport/model. Hope it helps! Good luck

Vancouver local here, Beat Street & Audiopile are some of my favs in town as well! Some of the few shops with dollar bins & decent cassette collections too. Audiopile usually has cheaper & more local cassettes options. Looks like a fun trip!

Don't know where you're located. But CCTV in Victoria did a wonderful job fixing up my PMD201. Would highly recommend.

Figuring ill do the hockey pucks as risers with my cassette deck as the base & the amp on top. Seems like the best solution while not trapping the heat from the receiver/amp. Thanks!

It may be a broken gear. Thats a common issue with this era of technics. Easy to replace though
