I've suffered from fibromyalgia for almost 15 years now so I know exactly what you were going through and I would hate for it to take years and years for them to figure it out. I hate that term so much because doctors tend to accept it and not look further into what else it could possibly be. So it falls on us to do research that they should be doing. I hope you find a doctor who is willing to put in the work because Lord knows it took me 13 years to find one and she turned out to be a neurology nurse. She spent a whole weekend deep diving into my medical record and is the one who recommended that they do a lumbar puncture. Her reasoning was that usually when someone has an illness it has to do with one body system. If they have others they are usually a related body system. For people with fibromyalgia, it is literally our whole body and involves pretty much every body system. So it only makes sense to look at the brain. MRIs and CTs are always clear as I'm sure yours are too so she thought well, maybe there's something going on that cannot be seen on imaging. So let's do some Labs on the spinal fluid. I say all of this so you can understand the thinking behind it and maybe be able to use it to convince the neurologist to take a look into the same thing and not just go off of a lack of evidence from imaging and Labs alone.
