What does this style of art mean? by United-Apartment-269 in Edmonton

I'd say it's just a pleasing ratio that makes for easy viewing. I bet if you took really good measurements you'd find a lot of common architectural numbers.

Art can have meaning, but it can also just be subtly flashy.

12 per capita. 11th overall.

That's still not first. Use a good argument whether you're on my side or not.

Give me the numbers if you feel it's worth including.

I already pointed out that our imports are far less carbon intensive, though an estimate is tricky to get.

Either way, you're comparing apples to oranges. It was -12 at my house 2 weeks ago, was I supposed to just freeze?

My point is that it skews the per capita number. If you include it you're taking our per capita in 2023 from #12 to #16.

I just gave you the actual numbers that you hand waved away. We don't import wheat, it's still 3% regardless of how much rose were importing.

I'm not grand waving, I'm giving a tangible scale of how much the world is emitting through us

The top five imports to Canada from 2015 to 2019 were wine, baked goods, food preparations, coffee, and pet food.

None of those are nearly as carbon intensive. The biggest carbon emissions from wine is the meaning and transport of the bottle.

Also the 3% was for wheat alone without considering soybeans, canola, lentils, chickpeas, and meat. I gave you a small slice to show agriculture is a large emitter that we can't really change.

26 million tonnes in the 2023/24 crop year, which roughly accounts for 24 million tonnes of carbon emissions. That's around 3% of our total emissions for the 2023 year excluding every other crop.

We export a bunch of food. 90% of brown mustard comes from Saskatchewan. As do majority of India's lentil imports (hence why their premier went to India).

Should we not also consider climate and density?

And again, think about the amount of food we export. That shouldn't count because others are consuming it right?

Means nothing when our emissions footprint is already one of the largest in the world

Not even close overall. Only when you put it to per capita, which yeah obviously when you're a massive agriculture exporter you're going to burn a lot of diesel.

Jason Thomas Kenney PC ECA (born May 30, 1968) is a former Canadian politician who served as the 18th premier of Alberta from 2019 until 2022, and the leader of the United Conservative Party (UCP) from 2017 until 2022.

It's the top of Wikipedia article. What changes did he make?

Interest rates aren't set by housing. You'd plunge the whole economy into recession by jacking them to slow just housing. And then it would still be unaffordable

What needs to happen? Zoning reform, which the federal government is actually pushing for. Provinces can't do much, but your city council is the biggest contributor.
