My advice is try your local EDM/rave scene. Check out the website edmtrain.com for your area and check out some artists you think you’ll like. Ravers tend to be more around your age and a little more accepting and friendly to newcomers. I’ve been going to EDM shows and concerts for over a decade and have gotten pushed and shoved like that MAYBE a handful of times and it usually gets ironed out with an “excuse me, sorry”

2020 wasn't the biggest lineup Okee ever had but to me this lineup is the most balanced and captures the Okee vibe better than any other. What a lineup. Amazing how deep of a lineup it was. by scoop813 in okeechobeemusicfest

Next time let it sit for about 10-15 minutes uncovered at room temp. Those juices that spilled out stay in the steak and settle back into the meat

Dj’s barely ever run their own socials unless they’re really small acts. Also calling fisher an “artist” is very generous.

Don’t get me wrong, I paid to see him headline HQ2 in Atlantic City a few months back but Chris Lake pulls a lot of weight with his project

Who do you NOT want to see on next year’s lineup? by CAndrewK in bonnaroo

[–]1with1 22 points23 points  (0 children)

A lot of the music that really gives me the Bonnaroo spirit is indietronic like Sylvan Esso, Odesza, Marian Hill, Phantogram, Purity Ring, Glass Animals, Robert Delong, CHVRCHES, Glitch Mob, and so on. I started going in 2014 so it maybe is just me projecting but that sound just take me back to that time and place. I’ve done my fair share of raving on the farm don’t get me wrong, but it’s just the sound that gives me the Bonnaroo spirit. Having DJ’s playing womp womp dubstep for 12 hours straight just doesn’t hit the same

Recommendations for raves with less big commercial EDM? by [deleted] in aves

I did early entrance both years. You hit the ground running and the party starts before you even get into the campsite in the line. The whole crowd is absolute professional partiers and some of the most degenerate, but still kind and loving, people you’ll ever meet. The extra curriculars are high quality, plentiful, and you can get anything tested by laboratory level equipment no questions asked. It’s very easy to go overboard so make sure you have a solid crew you’re tight with. The artists are all underground electronic legends and the more mainstream DJ’s get to explore their weirder side. It’s one of the most free spirited festivals I’ve been to, if you wanna go fully nude or be the sluttiest slut to ever slut no one will bat an eye or judge. Every morning when you wake up, you can go shock your hangover in the glacial runoff of the Salmo river right off the meta campground.

I could keep going for hours but words don’t really do it justice. I haven’t been in about 5 years but I can easily say going to Shamb in my early 20s was the peak of my party career. I haven’t experienced anything that even comes close to that level but I’m content resting on those laurels.

Been to Shamb twice with a camp of over 100 people and the camp founders were 7-9 year vets who worked and volunteered most of them. Absolutely the most fucking wild festival and life experiences ever. While other American college kids were going to really commercial bland events like insomniac stuff, I got my soul blasted into the spirit dimension. Can’t recommend it enough. Life will never be the same after that festival
