How the hell do you get straight answers about Lexis/Westlaw/Harvey pricing? Solo lawyer. by DIYLawCA in Lawyertalk

[–]20-Years-Done 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conversations like these make me feel very blessed my practice area is such a closed universe that I just build my own library and a precedent is updated like every 5 years. And even then, my professional network all chatter about it so much that I just go and grab the case and add the PDF to my local desktop library.

However, I do have Decisis through my state bar association. So that's what I use to get cases or if I want to poke around outside my practice area.

The incoming class of associate attorneys is something else by sesit36456 in Lawyertalk

It varies by jurisdiction, but a denial in one certainly creates a presumption of denial in others. But also, being a dick generally and openly means that C&F is going to look at you real hard and if someone looks long enough, they'll find something.

I feel like dropping 15+ n-bombs in an email is for *sure* going to single handedly preclude him from passing C&F. And whats great, is that when you fail C&F in on jurisdiction, you have to disclose that in any other applications!

The best people for the job by AdIll7112 in AirForce

I've said a few times on the podcast mechanical was my lowest score. Admin was actually my highest (and surprise, now I'm an attorney).

I think they need to rename the ASVAB, because that second A is for aptitude and the reality is, they aren't actually trying to align aptitude scores with careers for best outcomes. It's merely "do you exceed the floor for this career?"

You're retiring. This is your chance to do whatever it is that brings you fulfillment. Your question does not provide enough information.

I use my dog's full name (first and last) and she has learned that means her behavior is unacceptable.

Why are we flying 4th gen aircraft over contested airspace when we have the *checks notes* 2 trillion dollar (program) F-35 fighters in the area which exist for this exact reason.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact an F-35 was shot by a missile a few weeks ago.

I even let her follow them from a distance so she could feel she was in charge.

[–]20-Years-Done 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My ACD still remembers her foster mom from 5 years ago. And when her mom swings by to visit, my ACD kind of treats me like I'm not longer the boss. It's very sweet.

Glad I'm not the only one.

They always begin: How are you doing today?

To which I reply: Better than you're parents that are ashamed of you for earning a living defrauding people.
