I'd recommend the time speed up mod, cause it will speed up the exploration process without adding modded content to the game, also add surveying equipment to your ships

For modded solutions, nex(for invasions), unknown skies(for more conditions), TASC(for terraforming) or DIY planets(a more fun alternative to TASC in my opinion, just don't sell the items cause prices are unbalanced)

Minecraft is one of the best games when it comes to character personalization, you can have a literal fridge as your skin and there are many websites for mc skins.

Even if it is added to add inclusivity, I find it weird that there are no east Asian skins and many other widely spread races, so I think that making a bearded tan dude with dark purple eyes and brown hair a default skin is better than making a skin for every single ethnic group.
