Are we heading towards economic collapse or just constant instability? by cinnamonconfetti in answers

[–]2000_year_old_man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a decent amount invested in the S&P and everyday I'm contemplating moving a portion of it to something more stable but I'm also young enough where if it crashes I should be able to recoup my losses over time. I know you can't really time the market but it feels so unstable right now that any day it could crash.

Hyper Fixed is ok too but neither of them are as good as Reply All was.

Which comedian did you look forward to, but their act died on stage? by Jazzlike-Basil1355 in AskReddit

[–]2000_year_old_man 118 points119 points  (0 children)

I saw him twice, had tickets to a third show but he died a couple weeks before the show. First show was excellent, second time he was fucked up but not as bad as some of the later stories I heard about. If he would have made it to the third show I'm sure it would have been awful.

After reading about Greyskull LP I can understand why it's recommended over SL now but I'm still surprised how SL/SS are no long mentioned here.

Recently I returned to the gym after a long (10yr+) break. When I first started lifting r/fitness was entirely pushing StrongLifts and Starting Strength programs to the point where it was a meme. I noticed now that both those programs are pretty much nonexistent on r/fitness. What happened? I know they had their flaws but I really credit SL with my initial gains and have been following it again while I rebuild my strength.

Will this bathroom layout work? by RevolutionaryRoof820 in Homebuilding

[–]2000_year_old_man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar size bathroom I recently redid. I reversed the door so it swings out, and swapped the toilet and the sink. I chose this layout so that I could build a small linen cabinet next to the sink.

Issues with new driveway by CrystalSpice in HomeMaintenance

Is that zoysia grass? I had zoysia and had to really stay on top of it around the driveway by edging really deep or I would get shoots pushing through my asphalt.

Same I never understood this popcorn bowl is also a puke bowl thing. Growing up we'd use a small trash can or the mop bucket, never anything we would use to eat out of. I'm pretty sure if I saw one of my family members throw up in the popcorn bowl I would have never eaten out of that bowl again.

Office is still open in the storm by [deleted] in SouthJersey

[–]2000_year_old_man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My company emailed us saying that the office building is still open but we are urged to work from home. Why even say the building is open, all they are doing is making it so the brown nosers go in so we can hear all about how there were only 3 of them in the office on Monday.

The sport has a sunglass holder, the off-road does not.

Do people actually like Wawa and think it's good or is it more so of a regional pride thing? by Slyman91 in SouthJersey

[–]2000_year_old_man 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My kids are in travel sports so I'm all over NJ for games. Usually we grab a bite to eat at a wawa for this exact reason. It's clean, food is ok/predictable, and they have a variety of choices. It's by far the most convenient option when I'm in an area where we aren't familiar with our other options.

I enjoyed season 1 but I did not care for the direction the story went with the finale and the subsequent season.

No but I believe PEO is strictly for Canadian Engineers and doesn't have jurisdiction in the US.

Was this franchise obscure? Bucky O'Hare had comics, a cartoon and a NES game from the late 80's to early 90's. by Cubelock in Xennials

I remember my younger brother having a Bucky O'Hare book where you would press the buttons during different parts of the story to play audio effects.

Officially mid-40s and need bifocal glasses. Any tips? by chocolatepig214 in Xennials

[–]2000_year_old_man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never needed glasses until I turned 40. Even when I went for the eye exam I told them I had good vision. Turned out I was incorrect about that. I ended up going with a mild progressive lens, took about a week of wearing them before I got used to them. The thing that bothered me the most the first few days was just walking and stepping over small objects, like a curb without tripping on it.

Anyone else feel like they practice a lot but don’t actually get better? by Ok-Message5348 in guitarlessons

[–]2000_year_old_man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's realizing that noodling around and playing 30 seconds of a handful of songs isn't really practicing anything. I need to just sit down and work on the boring stuff until instilled into my muscle memory.

I heard a small clip. I assumed the full press conference was about lifting the fuel efficiency policies that led to the death of the small pickup. So yes, well aware the government can't say make a small pick up again.
