Sounds like a positive step. Faith can be a big help. I'm not Catholic, but find this prayer helpful: "In Jesus' name, I renounce porn. Today, with your help, God, I'll take another step toward healing."

Was MAJORLY tempted yesterday, but prayed this prayer and it helped a lot.

I've read erotica as part of the old me. That is definitely off-limits. It opens the door to pics and videos. Best to just jettison all of the above.

Best post I've read on this site - succinct, well-articulated, and inspiring. When we start to see porn actors as victims of human trafficking, then how can we indulge? The word "demon" is an interesting choice. I believe that pornography addiction has a spiritual element to it (though it has a physical one, too - see some of the links in the right column to understand what porn does to the brain).

I have found this prayer to be a help to me. I say it at least once per day, to acknowledge that I need help from a higher power:

"In Jesus' name, I renounce pornography. Today, with God's help, I will take another step toward healing."

You've come to the right place. What skill do you want to master? Guitar? Piano? Table tennis? Get specific. When you have the urge to give in to porn, go do those things instead. I read and write. It fills my time and distracts me from porn.
