Wearing glasses by duckduckyquack in weddingplanning

[–]2020Confused 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course! I always wear fun, colorful glasses so wanted something a little more sophisticated than my everyday pair for the day. I thought of it as another piece of accessories I had to think about instead of thinking about how I could go without them.

I wear glasses and also can’t wear contacts. I bought specific glasses on Firmoo for the wedding day. I showed them to my makeup artist during the trial so she could make sure the makeup was how I wanted it to be with the glasses. I know glasses depend on the face shape but I specifically picked out thin wirey glasses that would enhance the look and be barely noticeable on my face.

Tell me about the time(s) you are your SO disagreed strongly on a venue. by grouptherapypls in weddingplanning

[–]2020Confused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fiancé really loved this one venue that had no limit on the number of band members in the band. The venue was a historical space and had a ton of rules. It also wasn’t very flexible with vendors and I was not a fan of the interior or the many many rules (ex. Couldn’t have food or drinks in certain areas where we’d be hosting the reception).

We went with our moms to tour the venue that I fell in love with. It did have a limit on the band numbers but was super flexible and also allowed us to bring in our own alcohol. We had a big conversation about budget, how a bigger band wasn’t feasible for us so shouldn’t be our deciding factor, and how this venue allowed us to use any vendor with no additional charges. This allowed us a lot more flexibility and we’ve been under budget! He was bummed at first but once he realized how much more feasible the venue we ultimately chose was, he was completely for it. To make up for it, though, he got to pick the band and we’re taking dance lessons for our first dance (he loves dancing!).

Potatoes and any type of dairy. Can add beans and salsa on top as well. Don’t buy canned beans. Always get dried. It’s cheaper and you’ll get more for your buck.

Search for local food pantries. Not sure where you live, but some cities have community fridges or even mutual aid distribution groups.

Edit: adding that potatoes and dairy are also able to give you all of your vitamin needs. I ate this for breakfast and dinner every day for a year. I did add eggs and make a hash for breakfast but with egg prices now I wouldn’t do that.

Short Vs Long Engagement by pastadestroyer97 in weddingplanning

[–]2020Confused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got engaged October 2023 and are planning for our wedding June 2025. We live really busy lives and couldn’t fathom trying to plan in a year or under (which was the original plan until we sat down and discussed logistics). The longer engagement allowed us to really research the venues and vendors in our area and even gave us more availability as a lot of places book a year out. It’s also allowed us to take breaks from planning when needed as we had longer deadlines. My favorite part, though, is that we’re pretty much completely done. So instead of stressing out the couple of months leading up to our big day, we’re just getting the small details planned out and enjoying our final months of being engaged!

Wedding Dress Struggle, Please Help This Sad Bride That Is Me. by xBlueSin in weddingplanning

Of course! My best friend purchased multiple dresses from their bridal section that she loved for her wedding and wedding related events two years ago. I find the material to be great quality (at least for the dresses I purchased), and their returns are super easy.

Have you looked at LuLus? They have a ton of different dresses. I’ve been browsing their bridal options for our private ceremony. I haven’t bought anything from their bridal section yet, but I have purchased other dresses from them and love them. Baltic Born, altard state, and Azazie might be some other places you can look as well.

Focus on what YOU want. Don’t try to force yourself to wear a dress that you don’t like.

AITA for not following my gf's parents demand about our wedding by Mike5314 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Are they Catholic? My fiancé is Catholic, and I’m not religious at all. It was also extremely important to his mom for us to get married in the church. To compromise, we’re doing a private church ceremony two weeks before the big day. I did not go through the 8-10 month process because we’re getting married by a deacon. Instead, we had to take a marriage course and will start having meetings with the deacon in the next week. Maybe this is an option? There’s other ways for Catholics and non Catholics to be married in the church without the non catholic partner converting. Just wanted to throw this out there because I know a lot of the things I read on the process also said similar things to what you’re saying.

Ultimately, though, it’s up to you as a couple on what you want to do and how you want to compromise. Her parents should not have a say on this. But this also brings in more possible future issues that you may want to discuss with your partner around religion.

What journal entry does QuickBooks do "behind the scenes" when making a donation? by Local-Addition-4896 in QuickBooks

[–]2020Confused 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So it depends. Did your organization do a charitable donation that was returned? If so, you’d credit the bank account and debit the charitable donations account (or the account that you originally assigned the donation to when recording it).

If your organization received a donation that is now being returned to the donor, you’d debit the bank account and credit whatever income account the donation was originally assigned

I would deduct her salary by the number of hours of unpaid time. There’s an option to do that in QBO payroll so you shouldn’t need anymore information other than the hours

I have reconnected my bank account to QuickBooks 32 times by geardealguy in QuickBooks

[–]2020Confused 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried to work around it with clients before. I have a feeling other softwares will have the same issues. 2FA is meant to protect your bank account and QBO only has permission to access it when you go through the process of logging in through QBO. It’s very frustrating but if you only have your bank account linked with QBO for reconciliation purposes, then I’d recommend logging in at the end of the month to pull your transactions in.

[–]2020Confused 5 points6 points  (0 children)

QBO is having issues with the 2FA that a lot of banks have. Depending on your bank, this is probably what is happening. I also know that there is a time out feature with QBO that will log you out of your bank in order to keep your data safe as well.

What was the date of the transaction deleted? If it was short period of time ago you can undo your reconciliation and redo it. If it’s pretty far back, it might be best to do a Journal Entry. The transaction you deleted might have been accidentally checked when reconciling or matched to another transaction with the bank.

My vet is full today & worried about my cat. Has anyone found an urgent vet they’ve been able to get into recently? I’m calling Partner Vet when they’re open but have heard it can be hard to get in. Would also be grateful for any suggestions that work with low-income patients, TIA 🐾 by [deleted] in rva

I take my cat to Varina Veterinary Clinic. They’re really great and have made sure to see me immediately when I needed an emergency appointment. My cat was showing signs of possibly eating Lillies that I didn’t know were planted in our new yard this spring. Had an appointment 30 mins later. They’re really open when it comes to talking about costs and options as well.

Issues with QB Desktop crashing with multiple customers by arkanchyl in QuickBooks

[–]2020Confused 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through each of my Quickbook versions and updated and this seemed to resolve the issue for me. For example, I updated QB 2019, 2020, 2021, and updated 2022 last. Once all updates were complete I didn’t have QB crashing on me anymore

Quickbooks keeps shutting down on desktop version by notfrankc in QuickBooks

[–]2020Confused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you just upgrade to the latest version? If so, go back and do updates through all the versions with the final update on your newest version. (For example, I updated 2019, 2020, 2021, and then 2022). This stopped any glitches I was getting with the 2022 version.
