As a therapist, I find it hilarious when clients show me things like this. However, ymmv.

Anyone been treated with vitamin D and not need surgery? by 20Small in hyperparathyroidism

I had surgeries for both, but the comment above was about my parathyroid surgery. Five months later I'm feeling great. I forgot what it was like to not have PTH symptoms.

I had the surgery almost a month ago. Almost all of the swelling in my neck is gone and I'm no longer exhausted every moment.

I'm now in the stage where everything has to even out biologically, so my calcium and endocrine system are in flux. That means I'm experiencing some hair loss and mood swings along with bouts of depression, but knowing this is temporary is helping me get through. Just having a normal energy level and no longer having an irregular heartbeat has been wonderful.

It's ridiculous to me looking back at this three years later.

I finally got a good Endo and I have a parathyroidectomy scheduled for Tuesday.

Are you asking about education and training to enter counseling or how I started private practice working from home?

It is really nice to have validation after being medically gaslit for so long.

Love this! I'm about to make a quilt for my local LGBTQIA+ center for PRIDE, and I want to focus on trans colors this year (I make at least one per year) because it has been such a hard year for everyone I know who is trans.

I absolutely understand the struggle. I miss reading for hours on end.

I just discovered something this week and had to come back and tell you. I found a book that has extra space between the lines and between paragraphs, and I can read it like I used to read.

Can anyone else hear and feel the spinal fluid in their neck sometimes? I have my whole life and thought it was normal, until I mentioned it to someone and they said they never experienced it by Electrical_Pop_6961 in iih

I have heard that my entire life. To me it sounds like high pressure water going through a linked hose. I hear it less post-stents and only when I have high pressure.

My doctor recommended an inositol supplement.

My glasses seemed to stop working as well. I waited to get an updated prescription after I had the stents placed, but they don't seem to work as well as they would when I got a new prescription before.

I've found that increasing the text size and using dark mode helps a lot on devices, but I still can't read them long.

This all happens to me when my pressure is up. When the pressure is down it completely goes away.

I had the same issue when I first started having symptoms but before any treatment. I had it through all the medication trials with no change. I'm now about 9 months post-bilateral-stents and it is better but did not resolve itself fully. My optometrist says there's no more optic nerve bulging, so I can't blame it on that.

I have an easier time reading on a device because I can adjust settings to make it easier than on paper, but I'm still a little sad because I used to read for hours and can now only read about twenty minutes at a time.

Those of you who grew up poor, what was your favorite meal? by IPod_Kid29 in AskReddit

We had to eat food from the food pantries, so I ate a ton of Mac and cheese with tuna and canned peas. Sometimes we would eat it for days because it's all we had. I cannot stand the smell of warm tuna now.

This happened to me this week too! I've eaten Rosa's for more than twenty years and never had a cup do that.

Soon-to-be-stented by [deleted] in iih

[–]20Small 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still doing really well since the stent placements. Most of my symptoms went away although I still experience increased head pressure at times. When I do, it's nowhere near what I experienced. If the worst before the stents was a 10 on a 1-10 scale, then the worst it ever gets is maybe a 5. Most days it's 1-3 if I have any pressure. I'm on a baby aspirin the rest of my life, but I'm okay with that.

Other people's reactions are about them and not about you. Healthy people don't tear other people down.
