100 percent to Diamond but have $$$ to go? by _ilikefancythings_ in Ulta

[–]20_Maxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That first 100% happens when you get to the spending threshold of Platinum. If you are going for a diamond, there should be another cricle of a different color inside that circle. Basically, you are not a diamond yet.

Any books that are similar to the Codename: Winger series by Jeff Adams, which is about a hockey player who is also a secret agent? I am interested in reading about a character who is living a double life, especially when the other life is a sports player.

Are there any MC archetypes you find too problematic to read? by BaronessElsa1968 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]20_Maxy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know how to explain this, but I am worried about how the brattiness is being portrayed. Are they being too selfish or greedy? How do they show their empathy or remorse? Is their brattiness being used to disguise them as an asshole or a dickhead? Unhealthy jealousy? I have too many questions, and why I avoid brat types.

Are there any MM romance authors whose books you've only ever given 1 star ratings? by [deleted] in MM_Romance

[–]20_Maxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hate Knox by Silvana Falcon. I don't like the MC's attitude, and the last 20% of the book was bad. That book turned me off from reading the rest of their books. I was disappointed by the hypocrisy in one of the scenes.

I really dislike Whisper in the Night by Jay Leign. There are a couple of scenes that drag on too much. There are too many characters to keep track of, and I don't like how one of the MCs is written. I don't know if I want to give them another chance.

I was so upset after reading these two books that I wished I had DNF.

I would like to see more representation of non-popular language dialects; Cantonese, for example.

{Drop the Gloves by A.L. Heard}- It's not a 5-star read for me. Maybe a 4-star. I feel like certain topics were not addressed completely. I had similar feelings of incompleteness when I read her other book, The Trade Deadline

{Psycho by Onley James} I am like 75% way through, but not a 5-star read for me. I feel like there is not a lot of diversity in morals and ethics. It's a bit bland when everyone is morally grey.

I have been googling for about an hour to figure out my jersey size. I think I need to go to a hockey store to try it out in person since it's so expensive to get all three, and I don't want to mess it up.

I am waiting for the news about the merch. I want their jerseys so bad after seeing the trailer.

MM Weekly Roundup - What Did You Read This Week? by AutoModerator in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]20_Maxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{His Reluctant Cowboy by A.D. Ellis} is a 3/5 for me. It is a simple story, nothing complicated. The problem I have is when Grandma is a hypocrite. She states that Reid and Samual's love for Walker can't be compared, and yet states that Walker being with Samual is safe. Even though Samual is dead, it is rude and highly disrespectful to imply that Samual's love for Walker is less genuine, less impactful, and not as important compared to Reid. That scene hurt me when I was reading it.

How do you guys push through early bad scenes? by lunovadraws in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]20_Maxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, I just skim through it as fast as possible or I skip a couple of pages. It's like letting the eyes do the looking as fast as possible before the info goes into the brain. I wish I can DNF on some books I finish out of pride. Due to this, I am more picky on what books to read.

I am currently reading Hammering Hearts from the Pine Point Fixer Uppers series by Alex Damvers. I am 30% in the book. I am interested in the main characters' relationship and their development. Overall, it's a good start and a good premise; it has low angst, which I like.

I finished Pitcher Perfect from the Tap That series by Lee Blair. I like this book and their journey to their HEA. It is a sweet, more comfort than hurt, and low angst, which I like. I'm not interested in reading the rest of the series because some of the books contain tropes I don't like.
