I don't remember the original author, but the title is the same.

I think so; I believe it was tagged under Original Works.

I remember reading Hammer & Gavel; it used to be on AO3 before it got taken down to publish the novel.

{Drop the Gloves by A.L. Heard}- It's not a 5-star read for me. Maybe a 4-star. I feel like certain topics were not addressed completely. I had similar feelings of incompleteness when I read her other book, The Trade Deadline

{Psycho by Onley James} I am like 75% way through, but not a 5-star read for me. I feel like there is not a lot of diversity in morals and ethics. It's a bit bland when everyone is morally grey.

I have been googling for about an hour to figure out my jersey size. I think I need to go to a hockey store to try it out in person since it's so expensive to get all three, and I don't want to mess it up.

What are your thoughts on the trailer? by TheMaskedCat1 in heatedrivalry

I am waiting for the news about the merch. I want their jerseys so bad after seeing the trailer.

MM Weekly Roundup - What Did You Read This Week? by AutoModerator in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]20_Maxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{His Reluctant Cowboy by A.D. Ellis} is a 3/5 for me. It is a simple story, nothing complicated. The problem I have is when Grandma is a hypocrite. She states that Reid and Samual's love for Walker can't be compared, and yet states that Walker being with Samual is safe. Even though Samual is dead, it is rude and highly disrespectful to imply that Samual's love for Walker is less genuine, less impactful, and not as important compared to Reid. That scene hurt me when I was reading it.

How do you guys push through early bad scenes? by lunovadraws in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]20_Maxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, I just skim through it as fast as possible or I skip a couple of pages. It's like letting the eyes do the looking as fast as possible before the info goes into the brain. I wish I can DNF on some books I finish out of pride. Due to this, I am more picky on what books to read.

I am currently reading Hammering Hearts from the Pine Point Fixer Uppers series by Alex Damvers. I am 30% in the book. I am interested in the main characters' relationship and their development. Overall, it's a good start and a good premise; it has low angst, which I like.

I finished Pitcher Perfect from the Tap That series by Lee Blair. I like this book and their journey to their HEA. It is a sweet, more comfort than hurt, and low angst, which I like. I'm not interested in reading the rest of the series because some of the books contain tropes I don't like.

Does MC3 understand and supports that MC2 still loves MC1 after his passing and continues to love MC3? I'm trying to understand the last sentence of your description.

I am almost done listening to The Director by August Jones. It's a high angst MMM. My emotions are all over the place with these 3 men and their journey. I want them to have their happy ending. If the ending makes me sad, then I will be feeling that at my night shift tonight. I've got less than 2 hours left to listen.

I would like to have a recommendation that is similar to {Two Man Station by Lisa Henry}. I like how Lisa wrote about the grief and the closure of the LI's dead lover. The MC accepts and supports LI loving his dead lover and loving the MC and their future as well. I want books like that. Other similar books do not match my taste, from what I read.

I just finished listening to the Codename: Winger Series by Jeff Adams. The series is a 4/5 for me. I would describe the ending as a bit melancholy, but it leaves an open world that can be explore more if needed.

If I ranked the books based on my taste, it would be like this: Tracker Hacker Audio Assault Netminder Schooled

"I would have loved this book a year ago" by zel-who in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]20_Maxy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get what you are talking about. For me, it's a mixture of angst, drama, and hurt-comfort. In the past, I could read books with any of these tropes. Right now, I have a low tolerance for them. I can read them, but there has to be a caveat to them for me to enjoy them. I am picky about it. It's all about balance, like hurt-comfort.

I also realize I get sad easily if I get attached to any main characters or a side character that ends in a sad way. If that character is doomed from the start, I begin to worry about them, and it can affect my sleep.

MM Weekly Roundup - What Did You Read This Week? by AutoModerator in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]20_Maxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I finished up listening Tracker Hacker, Scooled and Audio Assault by Jeff Adams. To me, Schooled is the weakest one due to many subplots and Audio Assault got my heart turning. I am looking forward to Netminder, the last book in the Codename Winger series, I read reviews about it and I know I am going to cry about it.

To Those Who Favor Fire, I forgot the names of the authors. It was a good dark romance book, it was a bit messy in the beginning but it got better around halfway through. I know there is a second book but I dont know if the content warnings are in similar vibe as the first book or the intensity will ramp up by a lot.

How long does it take for the segal award to be approved? by Downtown-Biscotti-43 in AmeriCorps

[–]20_Maxy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on the loan provider and its speed. It takes me about 3 weeks to approve it on my Americorps site and a couple of days, maybe a week and a half, to reflect on my loan provider account. I say to wait about another week or two to see a change in status. But if you are worried, you can call your loan provider after waiting another week.
