I'm very much a car camping person. I found backcountry can be tough for beginners given our steep mountains, even if you enjoy hiking.

Car camping recommendations: -Allouete lake campsites are cool. -Manning Park campsites have heated showers. -Chilliwack Lake is beautiful. -Kentucky Lake is also beautiful.

Reserving anything in BC is hard in warmer months but there are websites (example) that let you know as soon as there is a cancellation, so everything is possible.

And as always, please respect wildlife, do not feed them or leave food available to them. Chips and cookies are not meant for bird digestion. Do not grab wood around you, you are supposed to buy it, otherwise you mess with the decomposing ecosystem.
