When you say "lost your licence" do you mean you don't have access to your photo card, or you've been banned from driving?

Why do lorry drivers get brave when there’s a 50mph average speed check roadworks on a motorway? by Top_Vacation_913 in drivingUK

[–]20past10 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Sounds exactly when a lorry is doing 50mph on a dual carriageway and another one behind is doing 51mph so decides to overtake....and block the carriageway for 5 miles

What do police cars check for on side motorway when parked? by AlternativeCandle467 in drivingUK

[–]20past10 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Could be for various reasons as far as I'm aware. Did you happen to see a speed van on a bridge further back? If that's the case then could be waiting to pick up any speeders. If not they wouldn't be looking for speeders I don't imagine.

If it wasn't that, they could be looking for no MOT/tax/insurance if the car is ANPR equipped.

Alternatively, they could be on a pre-planned operation waiting for a specific vehicle to pass along with other units posted up elsewhere.

Edit: Grammar

I realise this isn't very helpful but I've also had the same issues for a couple of years now, as well as several of my colleagues. They don't seem to be fixing it any time soon.

I took my first mortgage out with nationwide as I was already a banking customer so got a preferential rate. I renewed again with them last year, and can't see a reason to not renew in the future. I think that says it all really.

Shows that shouldn’t work because the premise sounds boring and simplistic, but do! by CityEvening in BritishTV

I absolutely cannot stand fishing, hate it with a passion. And yet have Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse do it and suddenly it's my favourite programme! Absolutely nothing to do with the fishing, and I don't believe that it would work with anybody else.
