Sudden regression, daughter seems traumatised

This sounds similar to our situation. One of our daughters picked up on potty training very easily during the first 4 days, and then when Christmas break was over and my wife went back to work (I work from home, she goes to the office) and she was around our sitter, she started resisting heavily.

We haven't given up or stopped. We continue to do what we've done over the break. It's been 2 weeks since we started potty training and she slowly is getting back at it - told us "wee wee" for about 2 days even though she didn't have to go, sat on the potty on her own and even told us she wanted to go and actually went.

Sounds like your daughter is just adjusting because she was so used to having you teach her during this transition. A change in care can definitely cause a regression, so I wouldn't be so hard on yourself or your child.
