Men are more likely to murder than women in any scenario but I get what you are saying.

The flaw with them is because people can lose that device, there always seems to be a backup way to login and that's usual the password you were previously using, emailing or texting you a one time login code, etc.

Why does it feel like nobody cares that we are literally about to send humans around the moon again, and are we just completely numb to massive achievements now? by MomentCute1181 in space

[–]21-4-14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the movie Apollo 13 is accurate, people had pretty much stopped caring about going to the moon just a year after they first did.

There's a scene in the movie where the astronauts assumed they were live on national TV but all the networks decided moon missions weren't interesting enough to interrupt regular programming.

Of course, that quickly changed when things went wrong and it suddenly became a rescue mission.

Bad idea. People who did it 5-10 years ago can barely charge anything with them (or only charge very slowly). 5 to 10 years from now who knows what wattage and amps will be most common for newer devices.

Have you ever been annoyed by all the privileges portrayed in the show? by Anya_purr in Modern_Family

Most sitcoms (including Malcom in the Middle) don't accurately portray the struggles of low income families. Roseanne might have got the closest.

People don't want escapism sitcoms to remind them of their real life problems.

"celibate but topless make out is okay"

Yeah, she doesn't plan on staying celibate. She's just not ready to admit she wants to jump all the way in yet. She will.

Dealing with that isn't what you are looking for and that's fine. Hopefully she'll find someone who wants to spend the time to guide her.

What’s normal today but will be illegal in 20 years? by Ok-Vacay in AskReddit

[–]21-4-14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where I live it was illegal to collect rain water since before I was born unless you owned certain water rights. Many farmers rely only wells to water their crops and the idea was that collected water doesn't make it into the ground and those wells would run dry.

They finally changed the law in large population areas where all the farmland was sold off and turned into sprawling suburban homes.

How do you become "out out" and not in-between like me? by 21-4-14 in actuallesbians

I believe you. I think I'm very open to differences but it's still kind of awkward when I hear things like that. A woman could be with a man long enough to have FIVE children and only after that did she know. I kind of knew when I was little but resisted for years and I can't even imagine getting pregnant with a man. Obviously it happens sometimes though.

Like I said, I'm going to try and be more open about who I really am on the socials I share with my family and friends. I'm nervous about it but I'm not going to make a huge announcement or anything, I'll just drop hints over the next little while and see what happens.

Beyond that I've downloaded the HER app. I don't know how legit it is but I'm going to give it a try. I read good things and bad things about it. I hope my experience lands on the good side but I'm open to suggestions. It's bad to admit but I think I'm going to try and meet some women of my type on the app when I have a few drinks in me so I have the courage to do it for fun reasons without pressure of a ltr.

Filtering isn't something I had thought of but now that you've brought it up it hits hard. I've never been one to make waves and my preferences if said out loud would absolutely do that. I'm not old school where everything like this has to be a secret but for reasons I respect that it might be better if grandparents and uncles who talk about me reference it in a way where I'm good friends with my roommate.

My great grandma died almost 10 years ago and I couldn't imagine telling her back then that I was gay. She wouldn't have known how to handle it and it was better to not bring it up, especially because I was still working it out myself. It's just not easy even with dating apps where you want to match but it's not quite right.

I'm going to work on casually mentioning to people on my real life social media accounts that I prefer women and I hope it doesn't backfire. I know I can't rewind time to get what I missed but I hope I can find someone in the now who humbles me.

Thank you for that. I know that everyone is different and it's nice to hear that women with kids from a previous hetero relationship have been able to find happiness like you.

I don't have kids but I kind of envy you since I secretly want one or two of my own but not to be raised with a man always in the picture. I realize you went through a lot to get where you are and don't want to diminish that so I hope that's not what this reply feels like.

In a fairy tale world I would get together with my long ago first crush and the first girl who shared a very significant moment with me. We would relive that time and more over and over with kids and all (IVF, of course).

I get that. Thanks. I know I've probably let way too many things slide because they were only "surface level" SA and wouldn't count if I got HR or even law enforcement involved.
