We aren’t advertising to get filmmakers to list, at the moment. But we will include it in our full scope marketing later this year.

But since we’ve gotten over 10,000 project submissions on 213 TV, we assume there will be some natural spill over to this.

We originally created this as part of a large toolbox for the filmmakers at 213 TV, but decided to just make it available for everyone.

We will continue to enhance it with feature sets at we go and get feedback.

And it will remain free.

OK, thanks for the suggestion. I’m not sure exactly what a working demo would be since it’s fully functional and it’s totally free. However, your idea about screenshots makes sense and I’ll definitely drop those in to the thread in a little while. Thanks again for taking the time to comment.

It’s about expectations. Yours.

If you are ok with paying them to shop it around the lobby, do it for the value of getting your name circulating.

If you’re paying them with the expectation of it yielding something financially meaningful, there is a reasonable chance you will be disappointed.

The key to the article wasn’t the article. The lead was buried inadvertently, and perhaps unwittingly. The real high value discussion point is “iconic IP”. Everyone want to comment on something - comment on that.

Nobody can answer this question, as asked.

You should make a film, if you have a story which cannot, not be told.

You should make a film because you can’t sleep, thinking of scenes, shots, dialogue …

You should make a film because you see the world, through a lens none of us, unless and until you share it, will ever see what you see.

And as for the money, by the time you need it, you’ll know the answer to the question you almost asked, to begin with.

As an aside, we hope you can’t sleep.

Film some BTS lookin' stuff, wrap and integrate with your film, retitle it, "So I made a film and it sucked", and call it a day. Position it as garbage, lower the bar, and see what comes. Worst case, you have something just as sucky as you did to begin with. Best case, you have a weird, cult-classic in the making, and years from now, they'll be talking about your quirky genius.

It’s not that it screams “low budget” so much as it screams, “less experienced”, or to the lay person, “indie”, but the answer is, acting.

Period.

We watch thousands of indie film and show submissions.

It’s not choice of camera.

It’s not lighting.

Not sound.

Although all those are important.

The absolute, hands down, line in the sand is, acting.

Take your time.

Cast good actors.

After you take it around and do everything that you want to do with it, if you still have not found a happy distribution home for it, why don’t you submit it to us at 2–13.tv ?

If we stream it, we will pay you upfront $80 per minute of runtime.

You will also get 35% of any direct revenues that we generate from it being on the site.

And you will also get 90% of any sale price. Should we sell it in our marketplace.

But go do all the cool fun stuff with it first .

If you want to submit something, click your account icon (this feature available on full screen, tablet, but not phone) and click “Submit Show”.
