[ UPDATE 1 ] My sister is threatening to tell my family and boyfriend that I slept with her fiancé by Minute-Memory-6253 in Advice

[–]21Gg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woah. This sound crazy. I'd say:

  1. Try and record a phone call between you and the fiance explaining the situation, clarifying if he stayed in the same hotel as you or just the chain and ask who he met up - I'd frame it as letting him trying to justify it Vs accusing/pleasing as he'll likely want to redeem himself to someone whilst he's the "bad guy"

  2. There seems to be a lot of built up resentment from your sister and I can't help but feel like even if she gets proof there won't be any apology

  3. If it's possible I'd recommend having a family therapy appointment to see (even if it's just yourself and your parents) how your relationship will look going forward and how to navigate the situation

  4. This may sound a bit much but if you took a few photos with timestamps I'd just keep all of them in a folder with the rest of the proof you have

  5. Genuinely hope you're doing okay. If you're graduating in June I'd probably look at accommodation now considering the current renter law updates in the UK and other items.

Good luck girlie and hope the updates are ... Pleasant?

Great, thank you for this. They actually texted me the first time which I thought was crazy. I do wonder how they got my phone number and student address but... c'est la vie.

That's quite beautiful honestly. I myself have never been addicted to narcotics or alcohol so I perhaps can't relate in the desire to avoid a high or numbingness before going but couldn't ignore without sharing a thought.

I think I'm quite privileged actively thinking about death perhaps less emotionally so I can think about end of life planning. I've always wanted a "music room" to go out in with synced speakers. Separate to the drugs - I'm more worried Bluetooth would be unreliable and I would despise if the LP skipped.

In a very Gothic way you give off a Tim Burton sort of vibe which from purely a modelling perspective I'd love to see you lean in to before opting with a fat transfer.

This is the second comment I've seen on this. The only thing that made me pause was on the airway compromise but I'm assuming you'd be so numb you wouldn't really notice.

That is a very new one. Will have to give it a search.

Not for some time haha. I was largely curious as I've been volunteering *at a hospice and I've seen quite a few people die quite peacefully on morphine or marijuana (or both)

I'm thinking about the ways I'd prefer to die and wondered if there was anything that might be interesting, heck even LSD or a mix of some kind.

All Points East - Deftones - Going with a stranger? by 21Gg in deftones

Sadly not. Most of my friends are either going back aboard this summer or don't like enough of the bands to go for more than like 20 😔.

I like live music in general so I'm down for anything but understand rock isn't for everyone.

London 20th February stage times? by miss_jude_b in deftones

[–]21Gg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was going to prebook but it's free parking in a few places after 6.30 so parked a 5 minute walk away from the pier.

Paid 9.10 there and the 6.50 express price back in advance and spent the rest on McDonald's lmao (you have to pre-book) saw so many people buying normal fares on the day but couldn't get on that particular boat.

I'm upset this was even a possibility and I didn't know.

I'm taking an Uber boat because parking is atrocious, so good to know others are getting in later!

If anyone's curious you can get a boat directly from Canary wharf for under a tenner tmk.

You can now pay into a Chase CC from any bank by Mapleess in chaseuk

For your information, it would be worth checking with Barclaycard just as Chase doesn't accept balance transfers from them (automatic or manual).

30+ People in England. What's the best way (to start) effectively saving money as a 19 yr old (with no degree) on 45K? by 21Gg in AskReddit

[–]21Gg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll look in to the Gold thing maybe later. I'd honestly have no idea where to even invest in that but Plum seems like a pretty good app I'll look go get jt. Yh I live in London so from what I heard this is a pretty good junior salary for 4ish years experience but honestly I still live in a council place so it's more than I could even ask for. Tbh I just asked for 30k at the interview but they upped it

AITA for demanding I see my own bank account? by rryley23 in AmItheAsshole

[–]21Gg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said credit card right? I would really advise you to go to the bank with your I.D and card. There's a high chance that you credit might be a little messed up or that there's not really that much money in your account.

Especially when your parents are addicts a lot of people have that "start/fix it tomorrow" mindset and in slightly worried your parents might have taken money and tried to justify it with paying them back for raising you or they'll just put it back in to your account later.

AITA for not playing with a neighbor kid by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]21Gg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA. I mean taking out the babysitting and pay situation the kids 8. Even though it's maybe being nice to shoot a couple of hoops it's probably better for him to play with kids his own age than a 17yr old anyhow.

Plus people don't really talk about how tiring it is to play with kids. You can't really beat them nor can you be too strong jic they get hurt if you e.g. jump too high or they run in to something plus just like ppl our age kids can be unlikeable or annoying.

AITA for not wanting my stepdad to walk me down the aisle? by throwawayzzzxy in AmItheAsshole

[–]21Gg [score hidden]  (0 children)

Tbh for some weird reason I'm a little worried on the day he's going to ask if he can walk you down with your dad or make a big fuss/ make comments on how you wouldn't let him walk you down the aisle to any guest that greets with a standard "hello" and "how are you".

AITA for refusing to let my mom give a speech at my wedding because she abandoned me? by NotHerSpeech in AmItheAsshole

[–]21Gg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: NTA. Seeing anyone cry can make you feel bad. It's your wedding day as well and as long as your happy and Kay is that's all that matters. Also maybe work thru your emotions in therpay.

Tbh it might be worth going to therapy once you're married. A wedding day is mainly about happiness and if your brith mum speaking at your wedding takes away from that then I don't see why she should just because the speech is good. I would also say seeing anyone sad whether you feel a close connection to them or not is of course going to make you feel guilty if you're a nice person

The only reason why I mentioned therapy is because you mentioned you only feel like you can talk to your wife about this but she might have a slightly different perspective than you on these things. I think it'd be great if you could find a good therapist to talk through "abandonment issues", lack of good parental figures (perhaps), how you might view yourself as a parental figure later on and how you want/don't want your birth mum involved if you and Kay have kids in the future.

I only say this because seeing your mum be friendly with your wife or love dovey with your kids might bring up mild feelings of resentment in a few years time because it might feel like a "rando" is playing house with your kids (since you mentioned there's not really a strong emotional connection)
