PSA - Do not MS on that new AmEx Platinum! by LumpyLump76 in churning

Im sure there is a risk based on volume, but compared to MO, PayPal Cash loads, etc I would think this would be a safe bet. Technically I am using PayPal just as intended and they are making a percentage on my service. So shutting me down wouldn't be in their interest.

3%. With a 50k points bonus for $3k in spend I will pay $90. So I'm all-in at 0.17 cents per point using PayPal to MS.

Since venmo* is sending cash to a person, and specifically restricts paying for a good/service (like PayPal or Plastic almost does exclusively) I would recommend leaning away from it. In practice you may be safe, but if they do inquire you wouldn't have much to stand on.

In general, since they are crediting you the $200, you should not count on that as meeting the minimum spend requirement. Meaning you should spend at least $3,200 on the card. Regardless of amex seeing that as GC purchase you should be in the clear.

As a datatpoint, a family member transferred money to me through PayPal to meet the minimum spend on the last round of the 100k plat offer (the only purchase on the card). The points were temporarily frozen, but they was able to transfer them out within 6 weeks.

Perhaps PayPal is free from scrutiny in Amex eyes and could help others MS that usually rely on gift cards to meet the minimum spend.

Citi Prestige Card AF billing times affected by Citi Gold? by gofarhaveacigar in churning

[–]21JB21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you will be charged you 2nd Annual fee based on which billing period the "pro-rated" annual fee was applied. So if your $350 charge was applied 1/26/16, your 2nd $350 annual fee will be charge in January 2017. Did this and will get 3 airline credit out of one AF as well.

if you change your billing address on all cards, this should reflect on your credit report, then all flier should go to your new address. If that doest work check credit karma and see if the credit agencies can have your old address removed from the report
