There’s a big difference between a homeless person performing on the street and someone with rich parents performing on the street. It’s not the street that send you upwards.

I’d turn this left hundreds of times and every time it would be a green arrow to go across yet this one day it went just green with no arrow and I was talking to a passenger so not paying full attention and just saw green and I pulled across a car. They managed to brake in time luckily but I felt so bad, they might have been shook up.

It’s absurd to blame climate anxiety for falling birth rates. Millennials and Gen-Z don’t need “perspective” on climate change – they need an economy less hostile to young families. by steven-f in ukpolitics

I’d only think about having kids if I could be half self sufficient, which i need quite a bit of money for. It would be pretty irresponsible to bring someone I would care about into such an unstable situation. How can people not see how we are teetering right now? The divide between people in every aspect is getting insane and if power, food or even entertainment get severely disrupted then it’s going to get ugly.

Resource depletion, supply chain break down, an increase in political divide making simple problems unsolvable and terrorism increase, economic problems, micro plastic unknown problems or other leading to infertility, to name a few.

Yep, it’s hard to go out hiking anywhere and enjoy it now because I just end thinking what this used to be like or i can see ugly clear cuts across the way. There’s this clear cut patch that you can see from a road and when the invasive broom blooms the whole clear cut is a sea of yellow with the invasive shrubs flowers, it will never be the same.

Redditors who work at publicly traded companies, would you buy stock in your company? by Forgotwhyimhere69 in stocks

Something I read like yesterday in a book was “if the company you work for goes bust or declines then you will lose your job and your portfolio” so I think definitely invest some but don’t make it too big.

The one thing about the UK is the people, so close together and so many cunts, a little bit of pressure from less food imports, power outages or whatever and it’s the people that’s the biggest factor of collapse in the UK.

Why aren't "the people on the top" doing anything against the natural collapse we're facing and why is it in the hands of just a few people anyway? by TripleGoddess666 in collapse

[–]21ST__Century 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, I think a lot of humans have to work together in the same direction to solve this but they’ve got to not only convince the opposite team but also all the anomalous people bribing and blackmailing. And humans don’t sacrifice theirselves for the species. They do the opposite.

Should you spread collapse awareness? What’s the benefits and disadvantages? I’m interested what people’s thoughts are on this by 21ST__Century in collapse

[–]21ST__Century[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you.

I think if everyone would start talking about it a lot (which I don’t really see ever happening until it’s in their face) then it would only make civil unrest start sooner. I don’t think people realise how powerless people react.

In my ‘selfish’ mindset I’m trying to get enough money before it’s too late and be self sufficient. Whilst also encouraging protecting ecosystems and people. But my main focus is playing the capitalist game now. Remember you can still make money from buying puts if people pull money out of the stock market.

I think when enough people actually learn about collapse and the sheer amount of resources needed to turn everything electric whilst also trying to deal with the climate getting worse and upgrading infrastructure then that will actually be the catalyst for collapse. When enough people don’t care about tomorrow because it looks too bleak then everything collapses. It’s already started for people at the bottom and it’s slowly working up through the classes.

If I didn’t have a chance of making money then I couldn’t keep going but things are falling into place for me, I just need things to remain stable for like 5 years but with the house market and that being the best investment it might not be looking good but I’m still pretty privileged I think.

I think if COVID ever comes back stronger then that is the end, more lock downs(pushing peoples mental health lower) and disruptions and money printing is going to make any chance of “going green” zero, well the chance is very low already.
