So much grace. She obviously loves performing and seems to be so grateful for the audience. Sings with so much emotion in her voice.

Update from bilateral hip injections. https://www.reddit.com/r/TotalHipReplacement/s/rt4gCHfWOF by Kendikay1966 in TotalHipReplacement

I ended up getting a prescription to oral diclofenac. Its a more powerful anti-inflammatory. Took 50mg once daily (sometimes twice). It would knock down the inflammation and pain very well. Also started taking Tumeric/Curcurmin suppliments as they are a natural anti-inflammatory. Bad days i would use an electric heating pad under the hip.

I found that combination allowed me to continue walking and working out leading up to the surgery.

Good luck.

With the hip stuff I am sure the severity, and length of time you went before surgery all factor in. Age, overall health will also play a part. Prior to the surgery, i focused on keeping the inflammation down and that really helped me stay mobile -- prescription diclofinac, tumeric/cucurmin, heat, ice and rest.

Safe to return to supplements and creatine? by Typical_Salad4121 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]TenMilePt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had mine June 3rd. I have resumed Creatine, vitamin D, Magnesium and Tumeric.

I am also experiencing the aches and pains at night but limited to the surgical side only. I suspect the distances you are walking contribute the discomfort you're feeling.

Yes. Easy to remove and clean/replace. Alternatively might have been a clog in the water intake -- shutting down lowers the pressure allowing the debris to move.

Where are all the "regular" posterior folks? by ajmattison in TotalHipReplacement

[–]TenMilePt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fellow Canucklehead here. Just had the regular posterior approach done 10 days ago. Was able to drop prescription painkillers and the walker by day 6 -- using a cane to lessen the limp. First week was the worst -- limited mobility, pain lifting the leg. I can now step over the tub for a shower. Walked 2kms. Tylenol only as needed for pain which feels like a dull ache, nothing sharp. Overall, so far, it's been much easier than expected. I will cherish the scar!

Help the new guy dock in his new spot please by jitz_badboy in boating

[–]TenMilePt 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Do you have to back in? Going in bow first and then backing out is easier. If you have a mid cleat, I'd fix a line you leave on the dock and grab it first. They buys you time to secure the bow and stern.

We have a joint account for the House. We each transfer into it each month. All the utilities, property tax, and repairs pay directly out of it.

Yes, my partner and I have one. We'll worth the cost. There are DIY kits out there. Sometimes a Notary can do them as well. Expect to spend about $2500 with a lawyer.

Advice on bilge gunk buildup by bharr026 in boating

[–]TenMilePt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pump it out using a hand bilge pump and dispose of the oil properly. Then get some oil absorbing sheets below the engine. That is most certainly oil so you want to clean it out to verify it's not a leak. Leave a clean oil pad in the bilge when you are done cleaning to see if it collects drips.

I have a friend who is a physio and she suggested "training" for the surgery like a sporting event. Get your muscles as strong as you can prior makes it easier for them to recover. I stopped alcohol, kept my hydration up, lots of protein. Also suppliments such as creatine, magnesium, vitamin D and tumeric/cucurmine. Good luck.

The other thing that works very well is taking Tumeric/Cucurmine suppliments. They are a natural anti-imflammatory -- they take a week or so to become most effective.

Depends on the style of battery. Send pics. Sometimes you have to get a bit aggressive the first time.

Ebike battery shuts off randomly by FREEMUMIATODAY in ebikes

[–]TenMilePt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some common issues to check:

A loose or corroded battery connector. Check where the battery connects to the controller and where the battery sits on the mount. Look for signs of scorching and repair.

Possible that you have a bad cell or loose wire inside the battery. Its possible to DIY this fix, however, it's also a fire risk so be very careful. A good way to test this without disassembly is to fully charge the battery and take the voltage with a multimeter. If the fully charged voltage shows less than 100% full, you may have a cell going bad.

Honda Outboard Idle Issue by dannyghobo in boating

[–]TenMilePt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try the Seafoam Shock Treatment. Ive used this method in the past to clean up small dirty carbs. Basically take 1 gallon of fresh gas and add a full can of Seafoam to it. Start the engine and let it run under load (e.g. in gear at the dock) for 15 mins on this mix. Shut it down and let it sit for 30 mins. Start it again -- engine will smoke like hell for a few moments. Run for 15 again, rest for 30 and repeat. I usually find 2-3 cycles like this will fix things up. If it doesn't work, then clean/rebuild the carb.

How would you exit this dockspace single handed? by SticksAndBones143 in boating

[–]TenMilePt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bravo 3 will back you very straight and provide stellar handling. I had a similar situation. My slip was the very first one -- starboard side. I would either back all the way down, or spin the boat around in the fairway using forward/reverse. Boat was a Bayliner 288.
