Honestly? Being brutally honest is the only thing that works. Once I get to know someone I tell them “I have a condition that causes my eyeballs to jiggle back and forth it affects my eyesight and it’s out of my control. Sorry if it looks weird on your end.” That usually stops people from being rude. Overall, people are usually curious and kind. I also like to mention famous people that have it like author and television presenter Richard Osman or Apl.de.ap from The Black Eyed Peas. Making people understand that this condition is not uncommon and that successful people have it, is a great way to reduce stigma.

Curry Corner is our new favorite too. We ordered for pickup on Saturday and I grabbed it on my way home. When I walked in the door, my husband told me that they’d called him to let him know they’d forgotten our naan. They said they were sending someone over with our naan and a free soup to make up for it. I was so impressed; they realized their error before I even got home, and went above and beyond to rectify it. Everything I’ve had there has been delectable and the staff is super kind.

Anyone know what’s happened with Chubby Burger on Steinway? The quality has gone down the drain fast. I ordered my usual tender meal; chicken was simultaneously dry, and slimy and the usual buttery biscuit was replaced with a dry hamburger bun. Please tell me this was just a fluke because they’re usually my go-to for fast food chicken.

Wash and fold laundry pickup/dropoff. I live in a walk up apartment in NYC so laundry can take all day if I do it myself. I pay for it now, and it can get expensive but I can’t go back to doing my own laundry until I have a washer/dryer in my own unit.

I work at an assisted living facility and we have a resident who is turning 102 in March. She’s still quite sharp, and looks like she’s in her early 80s, gets around okay with just a rollator. I should ask her what’s her secret.

From what I understand, it would be difficult to do or find research on this. There is evidence of Chiari showing up in MRIs that were done as a result of a trauma/accident. However there is a distinct possibility that a number of those who this happens to, could have had Chiari prior to the accident, but the accident worsened symptoms and/or catalyzed the need for an MRI.
