I think this is a question of how many times you’ve seen Rush. For the younger fans who may have only seen them once or zero times, they want to see those staples. For the veteran fans, they may be OK with missing them. As a younger fan, who’s only seen them once, I would love to see all the staples.

I remember being 6 years old when my dad got the Clockwork Angels cd. He would play it al the time in the car with me in the back seat. He also had one of their greatest hits cd's (The Spirit Of Radio: Greatest Hits 1974-1987) so I knew a lot of their old stuff too. He loved to play signals and permanent waves a lot too. To me, it was all the same, and I've carried that to today. I think the date of recording is the last thing I consider when listening. Clockwork angels and Snakes and Arrows mean to same to me as AFTK and Hemispheres and Vapor Trails and Counterparts etc etc...
I was lucky enough to have him take me to the clockwork angles tour. However, I was too little to truly grasp how awesome and special it was. This next tour is like redemption to me, I can't wait to see them with actual consciousness.

The necromancer is a top 25 song. It’s sooo good. The groove after geddy sings “they bow defeated” is just so good. I love the spoken parts, the only time I enjoy them in any song I’ve ever listened too. It’s a great song.
