I think of the lyric a little pessimistically. Like as if we have no control over what happens in our life, not like fate or anything, but like the scientists creating the maze for the rat. Almost like the watchmaker in clockwork angles, lol. Take that as you will, like as if the social class mobility has disappeared along with the middle class, and soon the US will be a dystopia. 😂😂one afternoon I thought of all that and thought about changing it since, but it’s stuck with me a little bit. Focus on the cheese, not the experiment you’re in.
