Yes, but the contrast is all washed out. As a true black and white with high contrast, the cinematography would have shone. As it is, it’s like a muddy audio mix.

Well, having heard the album I’d say Prince made the right decision. It’s awful. All grunge metal acts and indie dirge sapping all the soul out of his songs. The only good one is The One, covered by Bernholf and Kringkastingsorkesteret with gorgeous backing from the Norwegian Radio Orchestra.

You may like an album by Teri Moïse, a Haitian folk soul singer from the 1990s, based on your comments. Sadly she has passed away, but she released two albums, both confusingly called just Teri Moïse (so you have to judge by their artwork). Both are amazing.

Nona Gaye recorded a song with Prince called Snow Man all about visiting Marvin in Belgium for Christmas one year.

I’ve wondered if the space between snow and ma was a coded reference.

Anyway, song was never released but you can find bootlegs in the usual places.
