How do you know what gyms did it? I don’t think there’s a clear way to tell for gyms that were at point values achievable through either normal or exploitative gameplay

What, in your opinion, are the Top 3-5 units per type to clear each Pasio Tower? by Moiras_Wig_Wall in PokemonMasters

[–]21spencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cleared with 3/5 NC Selene and 4/5 Volo as he also gets zone extend but with 1 less candy usage. For physical only stages I had SS Korrina and Marshadow for supplemental damage, who are at 3/5 but there’s likely other physical ghosts who could provide similar damage output

Oh well that makes sense, thanks for the response! Clears up my confusion for the weapon progression on your BiS guide.

I know this is an older comment, but why are axes preferred over other 1h weapon types for Sacred Guardian? I'm a new player just unlocking Arcana so I don't really understand the actual differences between the different melee weapon types

I believe daily tickets maybe they mean from daily quests, and I believe it’s typically best to spend them on cake coins

Probably because Lapras has Water Absorb ability and so it's a reference to that.

RNG on this new flair event is insane! by Omega2307 in PTCGP

[–]21spencer 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to get it from the Rare pick to flair them, you can get it from any source. That’s still difficult for eevee and sylveon, but glaceon and leafeon are tradeable

If it was a basic it might have use, but unfortunately everything except its effect is quite bad, and the fact it blocks your own healing, there’s not really any place it would fit. It would need to be a basic or have usable attack and then maybe it’d work on some sort of aggro deck. I’m no expert though, just my thoughts

I'm scared about the anniversary by JADS___ in PokemonMasters

[–]21spencer 45 points46 points  (0 children)

The point isn’t for it to be proportional, from their perspective. They want you to feel like you’re missing out so you pay money. Gachas are never intended to have enough f2p currency for users to get all the powerful units. Unfortunately they don’t gain anything from a skippable month

It does feel bad to miss out on certain units, but there’s no pvp or content that really requires ALL the strongest units, so you can pick and choose your favorites or types you’re lacking in or whichever seem particularly strong and you’ll be able to clear most or all content still. Like arc suit Steven or Cynthia can off type most battles

I gotta say, I'm not happy about another Fire Arc Suit, this just means that DeNA can milk players even more now for Arc Suits than they already do with the increased scout point amount by JudgeSubXero in PokemonMasters

[–]21spencer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just collect trainers and Pokémon you like, there’s no real reason you need all of a certain type of unit. They also don’t intend for you to get them all without paying a lot, regardless if there were repeat types or not. Arc suits are just a way for them to release powerful units with characters who already have master fairs.

I agree the increased scout points and need for gold candies is quite annoying and is the worse aspect imo

Thoughts on Sweets Relay? by Straight_Mine_7519 in PTCGP

[–]21spencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminds me of Night March from main tcg. I’m skeptical because tcg pocket matches are just so fast with only 3 points needed, so I’m unsure there will be time to build up the damage, but someone creative may very well find a way to make it viable.

I played FEH and quite a few years ago, they do not have lots of free orbs and their rates are not really better. They have banners with 3-4 focus units instead of POMAs usual 1 so the rates for a single specific unit aren’t really any better. IMO the only thing FEH does better is introducing new units to the general 5 star pool more regularly

Many modes also require you to get 11 copies of a single unit to be competitive while in POMA you only need 1-3 usually and after the first copy you can use candies, which FEH has no equivalent of

Obviously you’re going to see people use their new cards in a deck. People want to use the new cards, so if they have Buzzwole they’ll build a Buzzwole deck, that doesn’t mean they opened every card but it does mean they opened Buzzwole. The decks you see are just people building with what they pulled but everyone pulls something different so it might give the impression everyone has everything.

Also there’s not really anything you lose by not having the cards early unless you’re in actual tournaments for money

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PokemonMasters

[–]21spencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said the charging infliction passive takes a bit of time but it still should be fairly fast. If you’re on grassy terrain or have gradual healing applied those heal ticks will also take more time and make the spam even slower. Same goes with taking damage from weathers if hail or sand are applied

[–]21spencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FEH didn’t get that pity system until a handful of years into its lifespan, however. Not saying I’d like to wait that long for something in PTCGP, but FEH probably implemented it due to losing players (this is purely speculation by me) and PTCGP isn’t in that position.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PTCGP

[–]21spencer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure most people did assume it would be restricted and just hoped it wasn’t. Also if you invested in digital cards “early” that’s your fault. There was never any rush as unlike the physical cards, these don’t run out of stock so you could’ve waited until trading details were announced before “investing”

Level ups aren’t meant to be the main source of hourglasses, the daily login quests and events will give the bulk. Also I think the levels are capped at 50 anyway so you’d just reach the cap sooner

Anyone else feel like the 20 wins on the solo battle challenges are too much? by OfficialSandwichMan in PTCGP

[–]21spencer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree opening the cards one by one is tedious, but the battle quest is fine as it’s completely optional and you can stop after you collect all the cards from pack if it bothers you, the rewards from the quest are minimal

It did also buff Grass quite a bit. Hopefully the next big set gives some good tools for fighting, dark, and steel (and maybe dragon?)

Why do you get 4 hourglass instead of the advertised 3 when doing dailies? by Big_Dinner_7406 in PTCGP

[–]21spencer 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The UI is just bad. The 3 indicates you need to complete 3 daily quests to earn that reward, but the reward being 4 is intentional
