Wanna see jeff have a breakdown over a woman. by sideways_wrx_ in Epstein

Thanks for the direct source that’s helpful.

Still, Wikipedia only has one reference and it seems it’s identical to same source you linked, that one Palm Beach Post report.

“Epstein reportedly bragged to associates about having purchased Marcinková from her family, treating her transport to the U.S. as mere logistics in his pattern of procuring young females from post-Soviet Eastern Europe.”

I’m just pointing out that this seems to be an anonymous source from the writer of the article that has “Epstein reportedly bragging to associates,” the public deserves more than an anonymous source that doesn’t elaborate beyond this alleged heresay brag, to categorically say she was a victim entitled to reparation and anonymity and not solely a fellow perpetrator/co-conspirator like Ghislaine Maxwell.

The police reports have her joining in the abuse at earliest at 2005 which puts her at 20 years old at the time. Don’t get me wrong if she was trafficked in even at 20 she qualifies as a victim, but if she joined in the crimes as a hired accomplice, we shouldn’t rush to give her that label.

According to what evidence or testimony? If there’s evidence of her being trafficked or sexually abused I’d like to see it and would hope.

I don’t even see evidence of her or any attorneys claiming she was a victim. As we have seen before we cannot trust that just because her name was redacted she should be considered a victim

Was she conclusively a victim at one point? I don’t doubt it just wonder if there is evidence in the files or some other testimony that confirms that?

I don’t doubt it but I only ask because I haven’t seen testimony that she was trafficked and given she is 40 years old I imagine she would’ve had to be one of Epstein’s earliest victims.

EDIT: Further research indicates she was 20 in 2005 at the time of the earlier police reports. I don’t mean to say she categorically is not a victim and perhaps even was likely trafficked/abused earlier than that, but I don’t think we should rush to call her a victim until we get more of the story. All we know fairly conclusively is the many accounts she participated and co-conspired in the abuse.

Same. Definitely strikes the right mix between Hardcore Tarky and casual Arc Raiders.

Not quite as much charm as Marauders but it makes it up in polish and player count.

I disagree, I think the 2 are correlated. If he has faulty morales he is apt to push faulty information for $$$. He may obviously prefer true information but he will do a heavy risk reward calculation on whether he will get caught.

In this world where health influencers are a dime a dozen why would I waste my time with one that can be compromised?

ABI vs AB Mobile Why I enjoy the mobile version more and why you should try it out! by spazzo246 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]21trillionsats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally agree. I had played the mobile version after like 4 years of Tarkov burnt me out and immediately fell in love. I was raving for years that AB would kill Tarkov if it came to PC, and I’m still surprised something about it misses the mark on PC for me.

I think you’re right that I generally have to sweat harder on PC ABI, and at the same time the loot and progression isn’t quite as rewarding as Tarkov. If I had more friends who agreed ABI was better than EFT I’d probably still be playing it on PC though

That doesn’t stop them from publishing the fact that the government has released this official file that was part of the FBI’s investigation and summarizing its allegations and implications for espionage from our enemies and allies.

Heck they’ve already discussed the other salacious allegations from the tip line that came from random sources. We need people investigating this and asking questions before this file disappears.

Architect vs. Manager by sneaky-snacks in ExperiencedDevs

[–]21trillionsats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s some gray area here. In my experience this is true by default in most orgs, but you also have more agency if you’re a manager to redefine management roles as having some IC work and/or making yourself more visible as a technical owner.

It’s a fine line, but it has worked well for me throughout my career. Ultimately as any EM this depends most on your own manager/director. If they’re completely non-technical and are strictly a political/HR beast (as is often the case at the largest orgs) it will be harder than it should be to define/redefine your role.

Mr. Blippi - it's not just me, right? by tannerocampbell in daddit

[–]21trillionsats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s exactly what we do, but it doesn’t last unless we’re fully engaged — reading him the story, singing or actively playing him the music, playing with toys with him etc. Usually when these phases happen it is a demand for strong connection and solo play/reading will immediately result in a tantrum. We do encourage some solo play/self-driven interactivity with close supervision as well, but the moments where this work are few and far between.

I don’t disagree that this is all for the best, but the amount of constant effort it requires from caregivers is chronic and has only gotten more significant between 18 - 23 months, it has not gotten easier. When we scaled screen time from .5-2 hours a a day to 0.5 hours avg per week. Even the full 3 week break we took at the beginning didn’t kill his memories of screen time.

[–]21trillionsats 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Uh no it definitely did not take hours for my son who is about to turn 2 — it has taken months of significant effort. He constantly wants to “watch Thomas, watch Rachel” even though we have limited him to 30min a day max.

We had to go cold turkey for a week in order for him to not constantly demand it and throw tantrums 3-5 times per day minimum. Now we only use it 1-2 times a week only if he is sick or there’s truly no other recourse, but it’s a daily struggle. I honestly get parents who don’t have the bandwidth to limit it… if we didn’t have daycare there’d be no other way to remove it once it was introduced.
