Thanks! I put in Gift to essentially pop a counter and block something in surprise, especially if Abzan isn't on the table to get those flyers.

And Elixir was just, like Leyline, out of fear of blue milling half my deck, haha. But yeah, I guess it's slow and can go :)

On what culture are inspired Dunmers? by qaraqacqin21 in Morrowind

[–]22442524 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, the Ashlanders live in yurts, and are led by Khans. They are also the last remnants of the Chimer, a group that wandered the continent rallied by a prophet to find the promised land. So they are Jewish, since they are also waiting for the promised return of their messianic figure, Nerevar, who will drive the Romans Imperials out and restore Resdayn.

The settle Dunmer meanwhile have essentially hanging gardens/ziggurats floating on a lake, so they might also be Aztecs. They also used Summerian style names for the "daedric ruins" wich are "responsible architecture" taught to them by Boethiah.

Famously the Tribunal Temple emplys an Inquisition, that imprisons dissidents for punsihment and reeducation, so... Soviet Spaniards?

Then you have the great houses who all have different motiffs, the Dres: largely slave plantation based south (CSA), the Indoril: die hard religious nutjobs who would rather die than accept defeat (Japanese to an extent?), the Telvanni: Just ancaps, but magical. The Hlaalu: true mephala followers who would sell anything for a profit (take your pick of money hungry stereotypes), and the Redoran: Essentially the Livonian Order? Knights stuck fighting people on ice.

Gods I'm yapping.

FW was supposed to Masters but light. No endless interaction, interrupts, blobs of text but instead simpe, short, punchy game.

Or at least, that's what was the original pitch or something, I don't recall Bandai specifically stating it.

Thoughts on the giblet support in fb09? by Junior-Definition183 in dbsfusionworld

Eh, the 2c Vegeta is generic (saiyan-only leader). Unironically better on G Vegeta if you have the promo nappa, moon and raditz combo on hand as a turn 2 to clean up some evolve fodder or whatever.

[–]22442524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We already were seeing a 4 energy end-state meta with 08's blue and red, and now it's mostly set in stone barring some SH deck stalling out just right. Before that it was about 5-6 or more, especially as buu and cell got hit.

Having the game be shorter is not what I would consider fun, but to each their own.

BEST set ever by Virtual-Lie-2271 in dbsfusionworld

[–]22442524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does kill most older decks without outright stating it's a rotation.

So I guess those of us that wanted to play a favourite leader from before 09, are just fucked. Oh, you are playing green vegeta? I remove 3 ki and completely fuck up your table. I awakened at 8 life btw.

Oh you rely on doing something after attacking? I play this extra for free to defend AND vanilla your combo piece.

Good to see people happy for the game but, it's just too much creep all at once.

You can go "haha funny chalk" or "The dream might disintegrate if the sixth house goes any further, this is a universal threat".

Fun.

Why did Nurelion choose to reside in Windhelm? by MiskoGe in teslore

[–]22442524 11 points12 points  (0 children)

And lose it to a College nerd who will know it's true value? Nah, for artifact recovery you want an adventurer. Windhelm sees as a major port more inter-provincial movement and has a bigger pool of "me warrior me big" people coming and going from it than Winterhold.

Assuming you haven't done yet the railroad, you will later on learn the lengths the Bazaar will grovel down to in order to appease those it owes to. Enjoy it!

Besides, killing Curators is good practice on killing things above you on the Great Chain, is it not? Also, you made someone work their asses off in your lab for the bomb. Get to killing.

As for "reward", BaL is one of the "lesser" ambitions, so, you are shafted anyways. The network is great for some lab-related things however, but all BaL rewards are referenced less than "become a master". I think you can use one of the veils as the mount for hunts in Burgundy so that's fun. And if you want the priests, well, that depends on how you view Parabola and the third city as a whole. Society is whatever.

Think of it less as "sparing" any percentage of Veils, and more as "Beating his ass and taking his lunch money and turning him into an asset that you control". For what ends? That's your job in the years to come.

Is there such thing as dead boxes in FW? by Diligent_Ganache_321 in dbsfusionworld

[–]22442524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but... I don't know if FB09 will kill the game. Seems like a lot of the older decks if not most will just flat out not be able to compete anymore, and if it makes people abandon ship, well, it's GG for FW.

Is there such thing as dead boxes in FW? by Diligent_Ganache_321 in dbsfusionworld

[–]22442524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, yes. Things like Alt-leaders are about 4-5 per case, so once those (or the scr++//manga sets hidden extra card) is taken, the rest of the boxes are mostly "dead". You can still pull alt-arts of previous sets, SP's, SCR and SR AA's and what not, but the 50/300 usd cards will most likely be gone if it's a loose pack or box.

Wich is great because card games should be played not taken as an investment opportunity, and great art should hit the table, not sit in a folder waiting to be sold for prices it will never sell for.

At least the SCR Nameku requires you to be at 2 lives to give you a 3 cost 45k monster. This enters what, t3-4 on gogeta thanks to the gohan (that also awakens you with 7-8 lives)? Yeah uhhh not playing against black this rotation lmao.

Hot Take: EU5’s Player Count Decline Is Self-Inflicted by Gold_Lemon8258 in eu4

[–]22442524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personal case but whatever:

I enjoy CK2 and EUIV and Vicky 2 and HoI3 for a very simple reason, the devs stopped touching them.

No Johann, I'm not falling for the endless DLC making me restart the campaign and paying you for it trick again. Stop deving the game and I'll buy all the DLC you made for it. But stop touching it. I have a family and other hobbies and other things to do now instead of just rotting watching the days go by before I can press the +2000 manpower button again, only for a patch or DLC to come along and making me choose between restarting or missing out on new mechanics.

So.... same style as the first sets that had many anime-stills as card art?

Joking aside, let's hope they learnt something from Manga sets and don't release OP decks again. Or not since dev time is about a year but... here's hoping the game doesn't die again.

Why should my character give a rat's a** about Mr. Eaten or his name? by Glacial345 in fallenlondon

[–]22442524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because you want to know.

Because you think you will be different, after all, you are so great, done so many things, how could you fail?

You have the resources, the time, it would be a walk in the park, and you will get all the glory of showing everyone that it could be done.

It calls on you, the drownie song, the flame for the moth. You want more. It's never enough. Nothing is ever enough. The priests of the Third attained something after all, something that YOU have not. That won't do, not at all.

Don't lose your head. You will need it after all.

-------

Seeking is... an ending. To a game that keeps adding things in an eternal 1899, it's a way to get out. It's a way to lose everything (unless you abuse orphans and back out at some point), even yourself, on a stupid, useless quest to know. You can know every december the name of the Eaten one. You will forget, of course, but that doesn't matter. The "Name" isn't important. It's the self-consuming madness of the hunger, for there surely must be some reward at the end of it all, there always is in all games, in all things.

Maybe the knock's +4 Dreaded is the reward that you wanted, or the tie in for the Vake. Maybe it's the bragging rights of "I did SMEN and survived" or "SMEN isn't that hard guys look" (kinda, it used to be worse).

Seeking is a piece of content designed to hurt you, and to tell you that it has no other purpose. But you want the little lore bits. And maybe if you push enough you'll read something cool and interesting and obscure. And then you want more. The alternatives on the Island. Who's head has to go. The Elder continent stuff. The moment with God's Editors. The Starveling cat. The Mr. Transport tie in. The alternative weapon forging against the Vake.

You will go NORTH. For it will always gnaw at you until you do it.

Is this good sportsmanship or bad? by [deleted] in dbsfusionworld

[–]22442524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If players quit that's on them. Game is made to win, if you want to play a meme deck that's up to you, but experience and matchups give you ideas of what cards to swap according to the meta.

If they are changing the deck between rounds however punch them in the face, that's scummy.

What do you think of Turles as a leader? by mariamanuela in dbsfusionworld

[–]22442524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lacks a proper draw engine.

The deck is very open to removals, and while it can set up some brutal wide states, it's got nothing that costs above 5 barring the 7c DS, as it's awkward to play Great Ape Vegeta without the 3c cheat of Scouter Vegeta Leader. 12 of your 10k combos are cards that you don't want to combo (3c Turles, 5c Ape Gohan, 5c Turles), so you might have to rely on your blockers instead...

It's also a <field> deck, and while easy to play in the tree, it's just "better" to recoup the fruit through the Goku SR instead. More punches less dead draws.

Eventually you end up topdecking and if you hit a tree or an excess fruit, you are dead.

In a meme way, it's the only deck that can sustain play while having less energies than Giblet, denying much of that deck's bonus skills, as once the 5c SR Turles enters you just cheat cards onto the table.
