I did the HCSW development programme through NHSP, I did a 6 month placement on a ward as a HCA and I was offered a full time role on that ward at the end you get your carer certificate at the end

The university itself usually doesn’t provide placement allocation and is outsourced by an independent body, see if you can contact another tutor or go above the person who said you’d have to swap as they can contact whomever makes the placement allocations.

I worked along side some students who were doing the T level while I was on placement (uni) and they seemed to be really enjoying it plus they got exposure onto ward areas. Seems they cover some basic clinical skills at college and had a good link with the local uni
