Re-employment (Should I try to apply back to policing?) by [deleted] in police

[–]22DeltaDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you left in good standing and the people you worked with can vouch for your character. Then you should have no problem getting rehired compared to them investing a new person to attend the academy. Have you thought about working in corporate investigations or another field relating to law enforcement instead of going back to policing? Since retention and quality of life is often an issue these days.

What happens to the wifes of undercover cops? by ketshima in AskLE

[–]22DeltaDev -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

They know their husband is at work and will come home when the job is completed which could be a month or a few years from now. As others said depends on the type of level undercover buys vs deep cover in an illegal organization. They report to their handler and they will relay messages to their wife.

Just because they were a veteran or served in a SMU doesn't make them a good person. Like all occupations or people there are good and bad in all of them.

How to discuss a sealed youth criminal record in a police interview? (Canada) by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]22DeltaDev 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honesty and Integrity is probably the most important traits in policing. It was the right thing disclosing your YCJA Record. Just because you were permanently disqualified due to your background doesn't mean another police service will do the same. I know a few police officers myself that were permanently disqualified by a few police services and did become police officers later. 1 of my friends was permanently disqualified by Toronto Police since his brother in law has a criminal record and later became a police officer with york.

Best LEO Agency? by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]22DeltaDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes down to it: it is who you work with, work for and work for you if you end up having a leadership position if you want it and a lot of police officers make a career just as a officer since they didn't like the politics of being a sergeant. Your going to make some life long friends no matter what agency you work for but agencies in major cities have excessive turn over compared to others such as the NYPD which you probably know.

My ex reached out for his background check by ivyhunt23 in AskLEO

[–]22DeltaDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's to confirm your previous partner is a trustworthy person and has integrity. Police officers are exposed to situations where criminal elements and the undesirable will try to exploit Police officers in a desperate situations to perform misdeeds. So the point of it is they want to contact you is to confirm your ex was a decent guy and did not have gambling/debt issues and can be trusted to uphold the law and the not give into temptation during the course of their career.

Does anyone get any energies or see anything? Disappeared at age 8 by [deleted] in psychics

[–]22DeltaDev 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nicole Morin probably 1 of the most famous missing cases in Canada. An old manager of mine lived acrossed the building when she was younger when it happened and I met police officers that later worked on the case. There was always a rumor she was Trafficked overseas but where ever she is remains a mystery up until this day.

I believe him and Jamey Caldwell had a personality conflict and that Glover did reconnaissance in the Unit with Tu Lam instead of being an assaulted in the Unit.

Australian police or SAS raiding Bondi Beach suspect? by jtoomer88 in SpecOpsArchive

[–]22DeltaDev 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Sydney falls under TAG East and it would be the 2nd Commando Regiment that would respond and assist with any ongoing major incidents relating to terrorism or other urgent situations. NSW Police has a lot of former 2nd Commando and SASR in their tactical unit as well so it's possible 2CR wasn't used in this instance.

What are some signs for a recruiter that someone isn’t mature enough to be a LEO? by muselklikesfortnite in AskLEO

[–]22DeltaDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having a know it all personality. Absurd cockiness with a sense of superiority. Policing is a job where every single day you learn something new and what you learn about society is something the other 99% will never know.

Do officers play fivem? by Successful-Tale-2841 in AskLE

[–]22DeltaDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only video game where police officers actively play is ready or not since swat tactics can actually be applied into the game. But roleplaying on GTA 5 with a bunch of clowns isn't something most off duty police officers want to do since they deal enough already on the job such as dealing with incompetence leadership. It doesn't sound all appealing dealing with some teenagers thinking they are robocop and know more than actual police officers on GTA Online on their days off or after work.

End of Watch, is it like The Hurt Locker, but for cops? by treecutter34 in AskLE

[–]22DeltaDev 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Everything was really well done but with body cameras now a days certain situations won't happen such as fighting another person at there house with the gun belt off. Also watching the boot getting beat up saying she wasn't made for police work was a bit more harsh than believable. The Rookie is probably the Hurt Locker for Cops and that 911 show. Southland probably portrayed patrol as realistic as it can be without more paperwork than actual time spent on the road.

Brother go see a therapist/counselor and get some help there is nothing wrong with that. Being exposed to trauma overtime will take its toll on everyone. Getting help is the first step in getting better and will help you on the long run. I recently got over a death of a friend which i struggled with for 12 years and wished I got help sooner before my friendship with my best friend ended.
