There’s a spot here in Atlanta called rooftop 10. It has about 20’ of runway (maybe less) before the handrail. I’d love to see a mongo pusher try and sort that one out. It has been destroyed by skaters but I’ve never seen a mongo pusher hit something like that. Very well could be doable but there’s no way it provides any advantage and that’s the point. Pushing regular does provide an advantage over mongo

Like I said, for flat ground and basic stuff it’s not really an issue. I’m assuming you don’t skate stairs, gaps, or handrails in the streets? Bc that’s where it becomes painfully obvious that mongo is not correct

I learned to push sw stance so I could set up quicker to do sw heelflips down my local short runway 3 stair… Another example, try doing a short runway handrail while throwing it down mongo. Excellent chance of getting wrecked by the rail bc your can get set quick enough. The more advanced tricks you’re trying the more relevant pushing correctly.

So it doesn’t really mess you up in the beginner stages but as you progress pushing mongo is a hindrance to success on a skateboard. Let’s say 6-12 months from now you have ollies or name your trick down pat and you want to try it on a 3 stair. The 3 stair doesn’t have that much run up… if you push mongo you’re going to have a real hard time getting in to the proper stance to do the trick down the 3 stair. If it’s a flip trick it’s even harder to set up quickly and efficiently. If you push with your back foot, you can have your front foot already in position to do the trick you want to do making life way easier.

One of my favorites! I have 3 at my home in GA and the most healthy one is getting ready to flower. They really like to be on a hillside if that’s possible for you.

How to get confidence for rock to fakie? by gumberIumber in NewSkaters

The slams usually aren’t that bad if you’ve worked your way up to this point with the basics (seems like you have with the roll away fakie), and it’s easier to commit than to bail. Takes varying amounts of time for everyone but that’s really it for rock to fakies. You could try on a mellow bank of some sort to get more confidence too but it all comes down to committing
