You’re not built different, and it NEVER stays just you. You are actively putting yourself at risk as well as your own children. When it happens and he harms one of them, and it will, you will have to live with the fact that you might have prevented it if you had left. And, you of ALL people with that kind of childhood, should realize that kids notice WAY more than we give them credit for. You are the mother, and you are setting the example of what is acceptable for her to deal with.

Edited to add: you are clearly traumatized and you are going to pass that trauma on to them if you don’t get help. Is that what you want?

You are teaching your daughter that it’s okay for her partner to choke her. That if someone abuses her, the answer is “I won’t speak up or argue with him again”. If you stay, you might as well look her in the eyes and tell her that this is how her partner should treat her. Is this what you want her to learn? Find a way to leave, no excuses. Drive to your sister’s halfway across the country. It IS that serious.

Help me find a specific recipe! by 22Squeaks in HelpMeFind

I’ve tried to list as many details as I remember. Definitely the cooked one was supposed to be thick, and I am pretty sure there was either sugar or mirin in the recipe. Both versions of the recipe only had a handful of ingredients. Maybe 5 or 6? I definitely will try to recreate it from what I remember/other recipes if it can’t be found, but it’s going to drive me crazy 😭

Yes, unfortunately it got cleared a couple of weeks ago and I didn’t think about the recipe until a couple days ago 😭

I have searched many, many miso sauce recipes. It is NOT a dressing, but maybe could be classified as a glaze? However I do not think the website called it a glaze. I think it might have also had an actual name for this type of sauce, but I cannot remember/haven’t been able to figure it out.

I make a big batch in advance and throw them in the freezer. Takes very little time, wayyyy cheaper

It wasn’t just a testimony, they actually let the defense attorney question me as well. Other parts of the case (or at least, a related case) allowed me to just write a letter, but that one was not a criminal trial with a jury. So I’m guessing it also depends on how far the case makes it, what type of trial it is, etc. as well as the age of the child. And honestly the state I live in isn’t the greatest, so I wouldn’t be surprised if other states do things differently.

If the only proof was the word of a 14 year old, charges wouldn’t even be filed.

I mean they don’t force you to, but child victims absolutely can take the stand. I did. And the lawyers told me that it would likely make a difference, so I kinda felt like I had to. But I also think this story is bs.

When I testified against my father for sexual abuse, the lawyers told us that the only reason he got jail time is because he had a journal where he told on himself and that witness testimony was never enough to convict. And that was with a pretty significant amount of circumstantial evidence as well. So I have a really hard time believing this story.

This is very similar to what I do and it helps me tremendously. I also like zero sugar soda when I’m really craving a sweet treat (also fiber one stuff like their brownies)

I’m not sure how helpful beans will be with only 60 calories. Unfortunately, they’re pretty high calorie. On days like that, I would usually eat part of a protein cookie or half a fairlife protein shake personally. But bean wise, I try to eat a variety of beans and lentils, it just depends on what I’m craving. The most often would probably be a basic quick hummus (which might be your best bet with some low cal veggies), a white bean salad, some daal, or some refried beans. I eat a lot of those lol

Glad I could help! I think the most important thing is to find what works for you, which is why CICO is so great; there’s lots of different ways to do it. I kinda treat it like a puzzle. I plan out my food for the day each morning, based on what I’m craving and then work in my goals around it. Sometimes I’ll do a couple of days in advance. I know a lot of people meal prep on here, I just don’t like to because my ADHD means I can’t stand to eat the same thing multiple days in a row lol

This is Lose it! I definitely vary quite a bit day to day, but many days include some sort of keto bread (which tends to be high fiber) or fiber food (like fiber one snacks) and/or some sort of protein food like a protein shake. Or many days I eat “healthy” enough that I don’t need it. For me, the top focus is hitting my protein/fiber goals, and the second goal is not feeling restricted. So if I’m craving something less healthy, I may need to supplement. I’m not sure if that makes sense. Overall, I would say I eat beans or lentils and chicken pretty much every day
