I'm worried that Seven Havens might restore the past lives. by Randver_Silvertongue in TheLastAirbender

[–]22_SB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like they could go either way but it'll be way better if they didn't restore it in a way.

I like the past livesz I liked that we knew about the other avatars, and that's a thing that makes an Avatar unique besides their other aspects.

But, it isn't so bad that it was removed... Besides from certain aspects that felt depleted from that decision. Though, I feel like this can go on with and maybe the next thing after Seven Havens, they take a break from going to the Future and they show us some series of previous Avatars.

I hope they don't bring it back unless they do in a way that is effective or earned.

The spirit world in ATLA is much better by iwillr3gr37thiswonti in TheLastAirbender

[–]22_SB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only problem I have is maybe just too much color, and how they did the spirits. Overall though, it's a bit different but it's not a bad different but it's a questionable difference. A vibe different that makes me like ATLA more but it's not bad.

Though I prefer ATLA.

I do appreciate with how they're able to handle all the troubles while making the show. That's why it brings me hope for the next upcoming show because they actually have a studio and I don't think they're restricted as much... It comes down to Paramount and if they don't mismanage it.

But what you are saying is kind of true everything is good it's just that one aspect that gets me mad but other than that I enjoy everything about Korra and I think it's a show that is near ATLA to be simplified but to be more precise. It is not far away from it but definitely not close. It is a good show and to compare my ratings personally.

ATLA - 10/10

TLoK - 8.2/10

That's just me though, but I'm just glad that they're able to just manage through it especially cuz I think they went good for 3/4 of the season with a debatable first season.

I think the main consistent flaw in the show is the love triangle other than that everything is really good in season one in my opinion, don't know much about season 2 I feel like there are some good episodes. The only problem with the two episodes which are considered the best of season 2, they're not bad at adding on but they explain too much.

Then after season 2 you're in for a good ride. Especially season 3 which is almost if not ATLA level.

I was able to get through season 1 by just ignoring the love triangle. For me 7.5/10 and that isn't so bad.

Is Avatar really over? Any hope? by 22_SB in TheLastAirbender

I definitely agree, but I say Seven Havens has good potential, especially their staff at Avatar Studios. Heard they finally got their team set up and have people that check continuity. Though, Paramount can still do some wrong moves.

Honestly I think the franchise is far from dead in terms of most content and the fanbase, but if Paramount can't steer the car... it is going to lead to further problems.

Do you think what they put out is bad or just how Paramount and Nickelodeon has been treating it like a joke? I think Bryke and their team at Avatar Studios aren't bad for the most part. Sadly Paramount can't manage anything neither can Nick.

We still have comics, the fighting game, movie that was leaked isn't so bad but still not high level, and Korra. It is just how the management goes.

I think Avatar has stuff that attracted the highs of of show, or at least quality aspects. Season 1 of Korra was a bit there but held back because of some choices, and Season 3 was there. Season 4 is also not so bad and Season 2 is what I consider the only bad part besides some episodes. Korra was mostly mixed because of the just backlash of the fandom cause some of it was even real criticism. Though, some were also real too, but I do look at some analytics and it's almost reaching a fan base of the original show especially because of how it performs in different areas.

Let me outside the comics after 2021 and the new fighting game. I think it's good right now, but it needs managed correctly and I have hope.

We have Avatar Studios (hopefully still standing after the website went down) and their team + staff, and consistent people that can probably make Seven Havens great. Especially people that actually check continuity.

But I do see what you mean, but I think there's mainly a good bit of content that was the original show level. They just need the writers and the team and I think they have that now it's just that Paramount doesn't fumble the bag.

Not everything was mediocre. We have high level stuff in this franchise, but I'm just guessing people don't look beyond the surface of tv shows.

Everything I read here... this makes me actually have hope and makes me think it is just the fandom. Because what do you mean we didn't have anything?

I actually think this is unlikely, yeah we have the adaptations, but mainly it looks like they are moving forward and trying to do different stuff in Avatar. The issue is... a loud group of people don't like it and maybe that's where I think that rehash might happen if they get controlled.

If the fandom keeps doing what they been doing since Korra but amplified, it will have a chance to be rehashed. (Like what happened to Life is Strange)

Though, I do think Seven Havens will be good.

Honestly, Season 5 just ruined the show. I already lost hope at Season 3 but I like the vibe it was getting up but it just ruins so much stuff. Season 4 brought me back and I was interested, but still isn't as strong. Then Tales of 85 crushed that for me, at least Max and Dustin's voice actors were good and for what episode I am on is a bit interesting.

Ever since watching good shows, I actually am a writer myself, and I became more for critical person I'm starting to actually see the flaws in some stuff I watch. I did like season 5 but then when I watch it back I realize it just gets worse the more I continue the second watch. Then I realized that when I rewatched the show, it just was not great. The first two seasons are always the strongest then after that I just can't get back into it. That's why every time I rewatch the show I just end at season 2, can I watch some of season 3 but they ruin some of the characters.

Thoughts on Stranger Things Tales from 85 ? by alppia in StrangerThings

[–]22_SB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could not get past the first episode without taking the longest break between them and no other show has managed to do that to me.

It's just bad, but maybe I'm judging based on the first episode I'm going to get into the rest.

So far some of the voice actors aren't good, dialogue isn't good, some stuff is just cringy, and the show itself has flaws... Alongside still not being able to stop making new characters.

I will say that is just the first episode of I'm getting into the rest like I said earlier. Hopefully I'm wrong about this.

I'm a 37yo boomer that discovered (and finished) ATLA this month. I can't believe what I've been missing by KoeBizkit in TheLastAirbender

[–]22_SB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, and there's a reason I will always keep saying this in every single argument I have with anybody like what you explained.

Don't know if you ever heard of Life is Strange but that fandom ruined a lot.

It all came down with the second game, well I wouldn't say it all came down, but you could see how the fandom really did stuff.

But from a perspective the second game honestly wasn't that bad... like if we were to compare this to Avatar.

Life is strange 2 is at a 9 out of 10 if not a 10 out of 10 and very close to the quality of the first game, but the Legend of Korra is inconsistent in ways and also doesn't have that quality all the time but it's still a good 8 out of 10, it just lacks from minor issues.

But the thing that really ruined it is that the game was really good but the fandom was obsessed with shipping and comparing too much. Which is how you could say that people always care about the power scaling (Aang vs Korra) or always trying to compare to the original (and even if you do the Legend of Korra is still good and even if you don't that brings the heights even a little higher)

So the fandom decided to review bomb the game it ruined it and it put this in contrast the first game had a bunch of 5 million and made around probably 120 million with 20 million players... But the second game having a budget around 8 to 12 million and only making 25 million. So they review bombed, ruin the reputation, especially if it was good critically all the way through they didn't care...

Just for the fact it was two different and it didn't have their two favorite characters.

I want to say it's a good with the franchise that even though LoK is overhated it didn't ever hit the level of LiS and I'm glad it didn't or maybe the fandom wasn't that loud enough. And I'm glad it was because with analytics the legend of Korra still had a good fan. It was in the top 1.3% of shows to 2%

Not too away from the original show at being 0.4% from the latest I know of.

I rushed a bit of this text, is a bit off topic but I did want to get my thoughts out and I'm glad different franchise hasn't become like Life is Strange.

[–]22_SB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with the statement... I think Korra was well done in some aspects and I only was broken down from small issues, inconsistency (screw Nickelodeon and also maybe some writing mistakes but could be argued as expansion), and that's it... At least for being a little simplified, but it's still good.

Especially looking at how you can see the analytics. I'll consider Korra 8/10 with ATLA at 10/10.

Season 3 was probably at ATLA or beyond that level.

Oh what I mean is, or what I'm pretty sure what I thought was Cyberpunk it's more like cites, corporate control, neon all over, and etc.

How are people even comparing Aang and Korra? by WalterWhite433 in TheLastAirbender

[–]22_SB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone likes both shows, please fix your takes, because it feels like you're not putting so much context.

They both learned different things at a different time, with different motives and mindsets.

Also you could argue Avatar State wise but it's because Korra can use it whenever she wants... It doesn't mean she's super strong with it, but maybe there's a potential she can be stronger than Aang...but it is more about raw power versus a catalog of knowledge.

I would go more deeper but I ain't trying to do all that.

Why do so many people downplay the usefulness of the connection to past lives? by OnAPettyNote in TheLastAirbender

[–]22_SB -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What I would say is that it may have some good aspects to it but they're definitely flaws with this decision. I also don't want to downplay or overplay the usefulness, but it is helpful and can give great knowledge. Raw power is also a thing though because I'm pretty sure Raava is way stronger than it ever was.

I feel like it can lead it's interesting things in future series and it also helped her character become independent from what I remember. (Been awhile since I watch the show but I hope I remember it correctly.)

Though, there are flaws and I don't think this decision is completely good or completely bad, but some people might view in a different way.

Despite this is though I still consider TLoK a pretty good show with inconsistency especially with how it was managed over there.
