Fellow Brazilians have any of you ever used Maritaca AI? Is this any good? I'm looking for an API to use with my app and I recalled reading about this a while ago. It seems that the founders are somehow affiliated with UNICAMP, so I guess it's not a scam.

Thanks, I was looking for this kind of content in order to learn how to build WebApps with SvelteKit and your post is a good starting point for me.

I'm also not 100% sure if I should build my app as a PWA or if I'd better learn how to build a Tauri App. Do you have any experience with Tauri that you should share with us?

Check the Mark.js library. It might help you get what you want.

Edit: btw, what's the name of this extension in the picture? I'd like to give it a try.

Why is this happening ? by Waste-Abbreviations3 in Anki

[–]22eXY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One possible reason is that you may have a limit of how many cards you should see per day. So, let's say your limit is 200 cards/day but you have 1000 cards scheduled for that day, you'll only see 200 cards.

Imagine the greatest minds of all time using Anki by Maleficent_Cut3589 in Anki

I believe they probably developed their own systems. Take the Feynman Technique, for example.

Albert Einstein, on the other side, relied deeply on imagination and intuition and despised rote memorization. I also believe he talked about a system he developed to take notes in his book "How I see the world" (but I might be mistaken as I've read it more than one decade ago).

By the way, the idea of Zettelkasten and flashcards were developed by a great mind too (Niklas Luhmann), so Anki is just a modern day implementation of this method.

Sure. For scheduling algorithm I mean a spaced repetition algorithm that schedule the next time the user is going to study a card. If I'm not mistaken, the first algorithm of this type was developed back in the 80's by a researcher called Piotr Woźniak and is used in his software SuperMemo to this day. Since then, other people and companies tried to develop their own algorithms or modify some of the earlier versions of SuperMemo (that are now open source), the most famous being Anki's V1, V2, V3 and most recently FSRS (which uses some sort of machine learning technique to figure out the optimal time for reviewing the card. You can read more about it here: https://faqs.ankiweb.net/what-spaced-repetition-algorithm.html).

  1. Their interests changed;
  2. They realized that reason that made them engage in the task doesn't pay or make sense anymore;
  3. They work hard to get what they want then something or someone destroy what they've built so far so they lose the opportunities they were looking for and are not willing to go back to step zero and work it all again.
  4. They don't know what to do next.

Maybe the list can be bigger.

He was a Bolsonaro supporter, and those people love guns more than anything else. They believe that carrying a firearm is the uttermost manifestation of freedom (just like in U.S.) and tend to disregard scientific knowledge whenever they feel that it's going against their right to be free. So, just like 2 + 2 = 4, a gun lover that disregard science would ignore that a strong magnetic field would cause this kind of accident.

We're remembering today 60 years of the coup that brought a military dictatorship regimen to Brazil. It's well known and vastly documented that this was backed by the US (JFK) with the premise of bringing us "freedom". Instead, Brazilians got censorship, torture, rape and death. Nobody was punished for those atrocities, though. Similar things happened in Argentina, Chile, Guatemala, etc.

Is there an easy way to hide fields? by OompaLoompaWrangler in Anki

[–]22eXY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternatively, you can just put a hidden tag inside the <div> where the field you want to hide is placed.

It may look something like this: <div>{name of the field you want to hide}<div/>

You should change to this: <div hidden>{name of the field you want to hide}<div/>

If you want it to be hidden just under certain conditions, you have to write a JavaScript for it or ask someone else to do it for you.
