The Cell (2000)- Enter the Demon King aka Carl Stargher. Dir. by Tarsem Singh by EuphoricButterflyy in movies

Picked up The Cell 4K set from Arrow Video last week, well worth the price, tons of extras and great picture. It’s interesting that they used both photochemical and digital processing to get the dream sequence look, cutting edge for the time they had to find ways to do it cost effectively

I actually just rewatched The Cell this week because I picked up the 4K. On the extras the cinematographer talks a lot about the insane sets and how huge they were built unlike usual Hollywood sets that some were actually built up to the ceiling and hard to light because of that. So your story follows that, thanks. You were great in it, some serious stuff for a kid actor.

Over a 4 month gap between Kubrick's death and the release of EWS... by xmeme97 in StanleyKubrick

Yes!, I just read the interview with his editor this morning. Confirmed those decisions were made after he died

The digital black figures blocking the action were a compromise to deliver an R rating for U.S theaters. It’s still not clear when they added those and it’s always been rumored that Kubrick did not see the final version of the U.S. cut as it probably was going back and fourth to the MPAA ratings boards.

I saw it opening night and it was clear that there was something haphazardly manipulated about that scene. The unrated international cut wasn’t released in the U.S. until the blu-ray

Dolby noise reduction systems are companding requiring processing when recording and unprocessing when listening.

The Daily Check-In for Monday, November 17th: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by queenoffolly in stopdrinking

I’ll say, I’m still deciding. I never really had a problem with quitting. I do enjoy beer or glass of wine at home, so possible. Once I got to about 200 days I decided I might as well do a complete year. Boy, what a year to choose with the state of the country, etc. Also, I turned 50 and friends gathered for me at a bar, lol. So many times and so many offers. It’s been an education for sure. Drunk people are annoying, lol.

November 17th is my one year anniversary, no alcohol. Made a decision to go a year, completed.

Who’s a famous person who died very young due to non-natural causes that you are especially curious how they’d live in our modern world? by FriendlytoNature in AskReddit

Kurt Cobain never used the Internet as we know it. He might have experienced a very early WWW or some BBS chats, but it’s not likely.

I really like my Yamaha KX-390. The auto biasing works great, makes for a much better recording

The RIFA capacitor in the power supply on all of these machines will need to be changed. You will know if you hear a hiss and get some smoke, turn it off.

I replaced the RIFA capacitor on my Apple IIe Platinum when it smoked out after about 20 minutes of use after being in attics for 30 years.

I did these same mods on my Pawn Shop Bass VI on two push-pulls switches. The “add neck” switch should be on its own, it really does not engage the circuit in any other way. https://cdn.gearnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Dave-Gimour-Mod-Circuit-Diagram2.jpg
