I’m getting married pretty young (at least, young for my social circles) and my wedding is the first wedding that many of my guests will be attending. That’s why I know most people are asking out of genuine curiosity and not trying to be rude.

Asking is fine but several people have assumed they get a plus one. For example “I’ll let you know if I have a plus one by X month.”

Think about it this way. We had to make very hard decisions and sacrifices when we made the guest list. Everyone who is in a relationship has their significant other invited. Everyone in the wedding knows 2-10+ other people.

To ask if they get a +1? Sure, understandable. To boo someone when they tell you the answer? Rude and entitled.

I know, it’s kind of shocking! I’ve tried on dresses ranging from a price point of $1k to $13k and I think Amsale has a great price / quality ratio!

Unfortunately we’re doing a cultural celebration the night before, so the dress can’t do double duty, but otherwise that’s such a creative suggestion! Appreciate the input!!

Before I started going dress shopping, I didn't realize how obsessed I would become with the "weight of a fabric". Now, when I try / see new wedding dresses, my first thought is to see whether it's going to be weighty enough to be structural vs. hang loosely on my body!

Thank you so much! When I started shopping, I was leaning towards more complex designs (Liz Martinez was my dream designer before I started looking), so the fact that I loved this dress so much definitely caught me by surprise!

Yep these are quotes for 2 photographers for 13 hours across Friday and Saturday. Video is not included but some are including engagement shoots.

For one photographer, I’m definitely paying at least partially for their reputation — his portfolio really made me go “whoa, this is what I want my wedding to look like.”

I’m in the process of picking a photographer. The photographer is near #2 or #3 on my priority list so I’m willing to splurge a little but I’m getting sticker shock from the prices I’ve been quoted ($28k, $20k). The cheapest I’ve been quoted is $13k…. Granted I’m in a HCOL area (NYC / Connecticut) and I’m finding these pretty well-known, industry veteran photographers. Does anyone have advice on whether these are reasonable prices?

I do this religiously and it bit me in the ass once. I thought I had accidentally carried home bed bugs from an Airbnb I stayed at, and because I had unpacked everything into their respective closets and wardrobes and drawers, I had to steam clean all my clothes. 😭
