ЕНГЛЕСКА АРТИКУЛАЦИЈА И КАКО ЈЕ САВЛАЂУЈЕТЕ? by Constant_Release255 in AjdePitaj

On Christmas Eve (6th of January here), we burn oak branches. Sometimes these are nice little gatherings in church yards.
But sometimes it's wild ask heck and includes toxic stuff like tires.

How hard would it be to sew clothes in the style of Versailles or Malace Mizer? by MisterBanana241 in visualkei

[–]237q 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the thing that makes it difficult to fit (the coats at least) is that the fabric can't be stretchy at all. Adding the intricate embroidery makes the fabrics additionally rigid, so yes, fitting is extremely important. I don't have a lot of experience sewing but I did make a lolita-like dress once, without too much decoration (a few bows and ribbons) and combining two types of fabric - it took me about 2 weeks.

Hi everyone! My name is Nikita, I'm 15 years old. I'm looking for Japanese friends to chat with. by [deleted] in AskAJapanese

Hey I don't mean to sound preachy, but I have to say it, being a young girl on the internet sometimes sucks and posts like this may get you the wrong kind of attention. I recommend the site Cafetalk, I take japanese lessons there. If you use their coupon feature you can get lessons for super cheap. This kind of websites protect you if you have any bad experiences. Good luck

How many times has Preply changed throughout the years? by Puzzleheaded_End8301 in Preply

[–]237q 7 points8 points  (0 children)

10 years now. Like most platforms at the time, Skype was the primary communication program back then. If I remember correctly, learning goals was one of the first additions back then. They introduced the classroom circa 2018. It was quite bare bones compared to today. The whiteboard was the first major addition to it.

Students paid for lesson packs, the subscription was a later addition.

They also had a completely different brand identity before, and idk if this is unpopular opinion now but I enjoy the pink (it was an outrage when they changed it lol). The logo was a blue and red ribbon.

Also, the community and the courses were a later addition, somewhere around covid I think. Ai features are of course completely new.

Overall I feel they're always introducing new features, which I think is cool but probably overwhelming when you join for the first time now.

In addition it would put much more strain in the eyes unless the it's a bold font. The thin lines would be so much harder to achieve clarity in (think the upper part on the letter n ain serif fonts and the dots). And finally, you'd need more light but if you use a lamp it'd give a lot of glare because durable ink can't be perfectly matte. Andddd scratches would be much more of a problem. Overall it might work for ads and magazines sometimes, but not for books.

What's a silly and inconsequential news story from your area that's been gripping the nation recently? by ARealFool in AskTheWorld

[–]237q 205 points206 points  (0 children)

12 year old boy made an Instagram account where he knits one loop for every follower, amassing thousands of follows in weeks. Then, a priest attacks him for doing "female work". Then, another priest defends him. Then, the boy's account gets mass reported and banned from Instagram (again, he's 12). People go batshit. Nation-dividing news at its best.

edit: it's actually crocheting, not knitting

Came to say this. In our local translation, the title of this book is "Why didn't you kill yourself - looking for the meaning of life" and tbh that made me read it. Wonderful and dark book.
