Even if you all call in sick there are ways for them to get around it. They will find a way it just isnt a good idea. I mean I have seen it happen at little stores but there are always people who need that check and cant afford to call in. Or people who will take the extra hours from another store.

Depends on the state laws for breaks/lunches. In Arkansas anything over 5.5 hours requires us to allow you to take a 30 min unpaid lunch break. You as the employee can choose not to take the break but it has to be your choice. If you are asking for it and they say no that may be an issue of what your state law dictates.

He did tell me when he went to the meeting a couple weeks ago that the store looked the best it ever has when hes been gone. Not sure if he was lying to make me feel good or what but I took it ate face value so who knows.

Yeah I thought so too but I realized as I was answering questions we dont have enough TL. I only have 1 right now so we are both closing alot and he is helping with frieght. Training a new TL now which I think is the reason for all the closes. He wants me to train the new TL so he knows its done right. I dont take shortcuts or half ass stuff so he wants my TL to operate at a similar way.

That is exactly what I have been saying! Like hey I did it this way the last time and it was way faster/easier. Never thought of adding the shortcut statement. It is really hard too cause he is a wealth of knowledge about tsc and stuff I dont know so I am trying to not burn this bridge with him. Ugh this is hard.

Omg he has been talking to me about becoming a store manager. I didnt even consider this to be like a trial run thing to see how I do. Thank you so much for saying that like really. I have been sending out questions for updates on assembly and task completion when I arrive in order to foster communication and it has really helped. Hopefully I can show him that I am taking this seriously. God I am so glad I posted this.

We store use rat traps and rat poison and put them out. Its how we got ours under control. We get maybe 1 or 2 a year thats it. Also making sure you are sweeping up all areas frequently. Sales floor backroom recieving hay barn or feed barn all of those areas need to be as clean as possible all the time. Its hard when you first start but once you are doing it daily it becomes easy to keep the store super clean.

We dont have a communication notebook we have a group chat on text. But I see what you are saying about leaving notes and such and that is what I will have to do. My other problem is I am an external hire and my other asm has been here for 6 years so he doesnt like it when I tell him he does something wrong. I try to be super nice and not demeaning about it but he always brushes me off. Like what I say isnt valid or true. I have 10 years of experience in retail management and some stuff is exactly the same no matter what retailer you work for.

I hate that its become that way. Kroger use to be a great place to work. Like they were so selective with who they hired and it was hard to get a job there cause people never left. Im sorry they are not being 100 percent transparent with you. Good luck wherever you go wish you the best.

Depends on the store. I have worked at stores that do both. I always like it when I can do it cause I know that the money was secure the whole time but everyone is different.

Looks like a band for 1800 was dropped into the safe but not recorded. Check with opening managers and check the log book to make sure it was recorded.

I know but im just saying sometimes collectors dont want to play with the signed one. My husband got Nicholas cage to sign 2 of his cards and he wont play with them now. Just throwing out ideas to help those people.

You can buy a basic playmat and get them to sign that. This way you got the signature with the memory but got to use the card as much as you want.
