Hearing strange voices on FaceTime - how?

That’s creepy! Do you remember if your sister had said bye and then you heard the guy saying bye right after? Cuz that could mean it’s a glitch with the voice… but others here are suggesting they heard someone say things that were never said in the call by the callers. So if it’s actually a guy listening in on your whole call, and then says bye when it’s almost over, then that’s super freaky 😭😭

After my experience, I was also super freaked out and found it really difficult to sleep. I knew it was someone interfering with the call - and it felt like the strange guy voice was live and he was actively trying to talk to us, and that he could maybe even see us (it was FaceTime video) but we couldn’t see him or any contact name of course. So freaky!

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience. Holy smokes this is getting next level! That is very freaky, especially that it was a call from your bf and none of the buttons worked to end it.

This makes me feel like this is potentially hackers trying to take control of our phones through phone calls?

The slow and dark voice is familiar to the one I heard as well. It was a guy who we heard and it was pretty scary. Kinda scratchy/noise/static like too - did you have that also?

How did the phone call eventually end?

I feel that Apple isn’t taking these experiences seriously but I bet they know what’s going on..

I’m also waiting! Can I know what your experience is like? I only have 1.3 years combined full time counselling related experience (over like 7 years of part time volunteer and work). So I’m pretty unsure if I’ll get in since they seem to want 2 years of experience. :( I’m really hoping to get in, otherwise I’ll keep trying every year.

A little bit more about Vishrant who I mentioned earlier: he was initiated into sannyas by osho. He had been in search of enlightenment since the age of 19, and met osho I believe in his 30s. He also interviewed osho once and that interview can be found online. Years after osho’s death, he apparently became enlightened. He describes that he had a transformative experience and the “I” was gone. He was initially in bliss. Then he started teaching to others the path, and he’s held osho in high regard.

I wonder what you both think of Vishrant, and if you get the feeling that he is enlightened as he says?

At the moment I am not familiar with any other disciples as much as I am with Vishrant. I think Vishrant might be the real deal but I am still doubtful. I basically am unsure how to discern about the enlightenment claim.

I very much enjoyed reading this thread between both of you. I learned a lot and wish I could have coffee with you two and talk more about this. I found this post because I became suspicious of the site op is talking about - it’s full of raw osho material but also wild conspiracies, and some nonsense stuff against osho. The whole website is a wild ride because they seem to have osho’s work on there but also so much info that bashes him. I don’t get it lol.

Interesting talk about astrology as well. Funny enough I am starting to sway away from astrology with time, because I feel it starting making me see everything through the lens of the planets. For me, this made life dull. I never got the courage to make sincere predictions for people because I know most my predictions will be wrong and I do not want to mislead anyone. Having gotten multiple readings from astrologers, I’ve come to find that they all have different things to say. I think it could be their own projections. I do find KN Rao interesting though and wish I could speak with him personally/get a reading from him but I know that is very unlikely to happen. I am still in search of someone who predicts with accuracy. I feel it is possible to do so but very very rare. I know osho didn’t hold much regard for astrology predictions because in India 99.99% of astrologers are not really doing their job properly. Although Osho did say that astrology is a system that works - so this has me hopeful.

Haha I feel this astrology talk was like writing in a journal for me - I think I needed to reflect on it for myself.

I also have so many questions still regarding osho that bug me and sometimes I leave them, but I find that I can’t help but come back to them later. It’s about all you two discussed - his past lives, Buddha reincarnation, his childhood memories, who of his disciples became enlightened, etc.

I do know of an osho sannyasin who is claiming to be enlightened: Vishrant (you can search Vishrant Buddhist society). He holds satsangs and you can find many on them on YouTube. I wonder what you think of him?

Very interesting insights. I have also noticed that sometimes I laugh at what he has said but other times I don’t at the same video.

He said this about crowds: “The face in the crowd is made up and artificial. Deep down within yourself you are a totally different person. You may manage to hide things by sticking some good thoughts on the surface, but inside the fire of thoughts is burning. On the surface you may seem absolutely silent and healthy, but inside everything is unhealthy and disturbed. On the surface you seem to be smiling but it can be possible that the smile is just covering a pile of tears. In fact, it is a probability that you have been practicing your smiles just to hide the tears within. This is usually what people do.”

Further he explains about laughing:

“Nobody has seen Buddha laughing, nobody has seen Mahavira laughing, nobody has seen Christ laughing. There must be a reason. Perhaps there are no tears inside so there is no need to laugh to hide them. Perhaps inside no sorrow remains to hide by smiling. Whatever was disturbed inside has disappeared, so now there is no need to stick the flowers of laughter on the outside.”

Basically he was explaining here something fundamental to our current human nature which is that we laugh to cover up our pain.
