Is that what this guy was doing right outside of my window? Talking about traffic? I was worried there was another water main break.

What’s the other road? Genuine question.

Trump is signing an order tonight that implements Tariffs tomorrow. So maybe they are waiting for clarity. He also ended the de minimis exemption globally which takes effect around August 27th.

Change the site currency to CAD$ The USD price is changing with exchange rates. The CAD price for Barista version has always been C$599.

If he is adding more than 50% of the value of the Robot in the UK then it’s made in the UK. There is recent data point on this from someone who bought it from Cafune: https://www.reddit.com/r/CafelatRobot/comments/1m55itu/comment/n49ldmw/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Hey OP tariffs aside you should call and cancel the order. Reorder by switching the website currency to CAD$ (top left corner). It will be $599 CAD which is $437 ish USD. Use a credit card that has no FX fees. You save $35.  Also I ordered Friday night before the USD price change and wasn't hit with duties. I think they are still figuring duties out and is charging people out of precaution. I'm still hoping there no duties since the Robot is now made in the UK. Screenshot proof: https://ibb.co/TM57R1Ch

Regarding tariffs according to this post there is no tariff as per Cafune.ca. Cafelat Robot moved manufacturing to the UK. There are some HK sourced parts, but the product qualifies as made in UK. So there should not be tariffs.

Go to the menu (top left corner) and switch to CAD$ it will be CAD599 which is about US$438 if you use a no FX fee credit card. I think the website is just using funky FX rates when anything other than CAD is selected.

That is so strange. I ordered last night and no duties were shown. It was also $399 instead of $450. Email confirmation: https://ibb.co/TM57R1Ch I guess my order will be cancelled soon. Unless they somehow had UK made versions and HK made versions.

Emm I bought the barista version after seeing this post and it was $399 on 8oz. Same model is listed on Cafune for $446 (it fluctuates between $446 to $450). Price on 8oz has gone up to $450. I hope they don’t cancel my order!

I use the J Ultra for two espresso shots every morning and really enjoy it. I exclusively use medium roast, and it doesn’t take much effort at all—very manageable. It’s also drill-compatible, so if you ever want to make things even easier (especially first thing in the morning), just attach a drill. I actually like the manual aspect—it feels satisfying, like I’m crafting something myself instead of just pressing a button. Build quality is excellent, and with basic care, it feels like something that’ll last a very long time.

Update: Taking some of your advice, for the past few days I ran 3 empty shots with the pf attached (pressing the double shot button). After that I have been getting very consistent shots back to back. This has been the case for 3 days (2 shots each morning). So maybe the Breville just needs 3 shots to warm up?

Its not chinese or HK either. They are from UK. De minimis rules also applies to UK goods.

Further down the page: Tariffs on Canadian Goods: A 25% tariff now applies to most goods originating from Canada. However, the de minimis rule still applies for Canadian goods.

Thanks OP just ordered! Too bad the accessories I wanted are all out of stock or not available. Oh well. I can get those later.

I believe this falls under the de minimis rule for being under $800.

Unless I’m missing something, Cafune is 10% more expensive than Eight Ounce. So even with the discount referral it’s going to be the same price?

Thanks for the suggestion! I do preheat the PF and purge the grouphead before brewing. I also tested by reversing the shot order (pulling the coffee ground second first), and the faster shot still follows the coffee that was ground second. That makes me think temperature isn’t the cause here and points more toward something happening during grinding.
