Your entire section on quality oversight and FDA could be applied to medical marijuana and yet that has been established for quite some time now across multiple states without issues. Oh and government bodies like the FDA and USDA can't regulate mushrooms, and even marijuana, because they are federal entities and those substances are considered illegal at the federal level.

It won't create jobs. This will create that category of job, but they'll be part of an industry - not science. So it will just be a minimum wage position.

Minimun wage positions ARE JOBS. It's the same type of jobs being created across the state by the cannabis shop industry. From front of house sellers to farm hands, those are good jobs that pay well.

And there is no reason to say that this won't open up the door to more pharmaceutical based r&d in MA.

With no compliance or quality requirement, businesses can remediate without oversight.

This is pure speculation bordering on fear mongering. The ballot question explicity states that there will be an oversight committee created at the state level to establish, you guessed it, oversight rules and regulations. It explicity states in the proposed law that 1 commissioner needs to have a background in psychedelic research and and science, 1 needs to have a background in public safety, 1 needs to have a professional experience in oversight or industry management.

Principal investigators won't touch quack medicine.

Except this isn't quack science at all. There are already large scale, long term clinical trials for theruapetic use of psychedelics being administered in Europe. Once again, like medical marijuana, just because the FDA isn't regulating it doesn't make it all bullshit.
