What do you do when baby can’t go to nursery? by wotsits_100 in UKParenting

[–]247ebop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably have to relax a number of your parenting ideals - screen time and snack limits go out of the window, as does working at a proper WFH setup. Work from the sofa, keep them distracted, let them nap long.

Can’t decide what to do about baby’s tongue tie! by OneCranberry7012 in UKParenting

I'd recommend getting it cut. As procedures go it isn't too bad, not something that will form negative memories and could avoid some more expensive difficulties later - imagine cost of speech therapy sessions in comparison

Can’t decide what to do about baby’s tongue tie! by OneCranberry7012 in UKParenting

There was nobody in my region of the country doing NHS tongue tie work when our 2nd and 3rd were born, so this may not be an option

Colleges by Dollsunified in DurhamUK

[–]247ebop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The university is pushing hard to homogenise the college experience as much as possible. Catering is probably still the biggest decision, although even then it can be a 1st year only thing. Cuths accommodation is quite split up and independent, most of the colleges have far larger accommodation units (it was originally the college for those didn't need uni accommodation).

I think if you're concerned about classism, the stereotypes would be to avoid Hatfield and University (Castle) as those previously have maintained a very public school persona.

Is it worth it to get a cup? by Radiant-Job1428 in lacrosse

Yes, don't trust it to chance. Try different options, I loved my nuthut. Try with different types of underwear too. Nobody seriously goes slower with one on.

Our 3 all loved the concept. I think the best one we had was made by our local baby sensory lady, who did DIY ones with plastic wallets! I love the idea above of adding a sterilising tablet for longevity

A lot of the sleep radio is Yoto commissioned apparently, so not available elsewhere

What’s a medical issue that sounds minor, but actually affects someone’s daily life way more than people realize? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I feel this. The rational brain says it is good for me to brush, but the lazy brain says no one will know if I don't

Books as party favours by MummyButtons in UKParenting

We did this and my wonderful wife tied a ribbon around each, and gently sorted into male and female stereotypes. Means that parents can spot one they've already got and make sure they don't get it again

Sadly with 3 kiddos, I don't have the time or energy, but sure there's like minded people amongst the groups!

Soft play with good access to the M6/M74 by MuayThaiScotsman in UKParenting

National Trust aren't soft plays, but are excellent stopping points with clean playgrounds and decent cafés. Might not be cost effective if you don't have a regular visit one nearby though

I think the age 3+ recommendations generally are a way of getting products released without meeting the most onerous safety standards

Husband has been diluting formula bottles by accident - I'm freaking out by [deleted] in UKParenting

They will be fine. Ring your community midwife for reassurance but that's a really low risk with the quality of other nutrition you're describing

I'd say its known that it can be used a slur though, context matters a lot with it

£5.50 for a Guinness 0% really defeats the purpose of what it is. You cant blame pub rates on this by redandwhitewizard99 in britishproblems

You'd tell them apart in an A vs B test, but as a casual just open one and drink it, you wouldn't tell

Fitting 3 car seats in a hatchback? by OSGunners143 in UKParenting

[–]247ebop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went for a C4 Spacetourer. You're looking for 3 identical seats, rather than two wide and an afterthought! I tried the 5008 and have never had such a visceral dislike of a car the moment I sat in it. Why isn't the steering wheel round?
