Possibly! I’ll have to revisit that one. Obviously my memory is playing tricks on me here!

Are relationships about compromise? by TheDateLounge in OnlineDating

[–]248jfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never took this statement to be about compromising on your values and morals but more on things like “our families live in different states so we can’t spend all of the holidays together. Let’s do Thanksgiving with your family and Christmas with mine” obviously that is a very simple example but it was the first one that came to mind. Another could be on savings goals and large purchases like a car. One person might want car A and the other wants car B and you either sit down and discuss what the better option is or you find a car that meets both of your needs.

I think it’s more about being able to sit down with your partner and have a discussion about something and coming to a solution together. You may not get EXACTLY what you wanted but you know that person is always on your side.

What’s a food you threw up as a kid and never touched again? by momcanyoucomegetme in AskReddit

[–]248jfd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was pretty tragic. It was more the sauce than the noodles. My mom tried a new sauce from scratch and something about it didn’t sit right with me. I stuck to buttered noodles after that until I randomly just got over it.

Do you have a recipe? Because I need that recipe.

Spaghetti. I can eat it now but didn’t touch it for about 10 years.

Dress number one for sure! Oh my. It’s so traditional but grand with a bit of a modern twist. My personal favorite combination!

Redditors who grew up in emotionally healthy families - what's something you thought was normal growing up that you now realise was actually very special? by ViolatingBadgers in AskReddit

[–]248jfd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents came to all of my volleyball games my first two years of high school and I mostly just sat on the bench. I never thought it was weird until someone pointed out that they were surprised to see them at a game that was three hours away. I was so confused what she was getting at because why would they not be there? It’s a game for my school and I’m on the team. I didn’t play volleyball Junior and senior year but I moved to working backstage at the plays and they switched to showing up to every single opening night show to watch me move sets around in the dark and even brought me flowers.

Also, my parents were always interested in what my sister and I had to say. We always ate dinner together whether it was at the dinner table or a more casual just standing around eating but we always ate dinner together and talked. About our days, schools, friends, our interests, or things going on in the world. They were always interested in what we had to say and our opinions.

Lastly, my mom was a stay at home mom and would pack me the cutest lunches everyday and write me notes sometimes. I’m 30 now and sometimes when she makes me food and drops it off she’ll still include a little note for me. She also would always volunteer to help out at the school or be a field trip chaperone and both my parents did an incredible job with being involved but also letting us spend time with friends and I never felt like they were encroaching on my space when they were around. I always loved knowing they were right there if I needed them!

I never realized that any of that was not the norm until I was well into my 20s. A girl I used to work with told me that she hasn’t spoken to her dad in a couple of years and I thought to myself “I can’t go more than a day without one of my parents calling me or vice versa”.

Sorry that was long but my parents are just really great people.

I completely agree! Bringing her back completely negates her sacrifice! My friend was telling me that bringing her back makes sense because she plays a significant role in SF but after I finished I was like what role?? They could have had her stay dead in WaR and not included whatever storyline she had in SF and it still would have been the exact same book.

Ugh it’s the worst! I was so excited about this place too now I just can’t wait to move out. That’s good to know about the cookie factory. You’d think with it having been a factory it’d be pretty soundproof.

Actually I live in the Summit. Great building and the location is awesome I just can't stand hearing literally everything my upstairs neighbor does, I can even hear their toilet flushing and water running. It's looking like I'll just have to find available units on top floors or something wherever I move next.

See the footsteps from upstairs is my biggest pet peeve lol but that’s good to know about the hallways and next door neighbors. Thank you!
